Who is your greatest MotoGP rider of all time

with me it was a coin flip between the great Giacomo Agostini (MV) and my school hood hero Barry Sheene

in fact no coin flip, Baz wins outright due to his success on track and life in pain due to crippling crashes which a also feel

so who is your No.1?

Giacomo Agostini

Barry sheene

Valentino Rossi

Casey Stoner (the Ducati legend)

Kevin Schwantz

Kenny Roberts

F F F Foggy

Colin Edwards

there is a mountain of amazing bikers who is your MotoGP or all round good guy

as I say, Barry Sheene for me, may he rest in peace

Pontefract

The late great Barry sheen but for sheer guts and determination what about

Niall Mackenzie

Came from nothing

Started production racing in early eighties was then invited to ride in the Yamaha pro am series

Progressed through 250gp to 500gp then finished his career in super bikes

Plus he's a really nice bloke

Foggys style was perfectly suited for 250's back in the day and I have no doubt that he would have been successful in 500's

Hailwood was unbeatable in his day even though he couldn't set the bike up. After a huge gap in his career he came back to be unbeatable again.

In the days of Clutch starts, Sheene could barely walk, still took a bad bike and won races. Towards the end of his career when the manufacturers wouldn't give him a factory machine he rode a road bike and still beat the works riders.

Doohan made the Honda Big Bang engine invincible. Then when everyone started using Big Bang engines, he went back to the screamer and beat them all again. Head and shoulders above his peers.

Another worthy mention for Randy Mamola. Tough as they come.

With All due respect to Guy Martin, without his telly show he would be a nobody.

Widnes

Mick Doohan has to be up there, not just because of his statistics but also how he adapted after his serious crash and had to use his thumb for rear braking, unlike other riders who used their right foot.

Rossi is up there because he has done it on different bikes, 125, 250, 500 and now.

capirossi isn't because he wasn't as successful in 500's.

Foggy might come across as a nice guy now with his charity work but he was a complete b*stard to compete against. Win at all costs, get into the heads of his rivals through antagonizing them and wasn't against fisty cuffs. Hell of a racer though and a freakin legend at the Isle of Man. Steve Hislop was even greater, RIP.

Il Dottore, he's the true goat of MotoGP IMO.

foggy was never the fastest on his duke, often up to 10mph slower on the straight.

His time at the top bashing fairing fairings with the likes of chili and Corser was the height of WSB

For road racing joey Dunlop was king.
