"What technique do you use to get the perfect soft boiled egg?
Definition of perfect, in this case, is cooked white and runny yolk. Can't be having any of that white glob by stuff  "
I time it from boiling the water from cold, so the egg doesn't crack. And then my husband pointed out you have to chop the top of the egg off straight away or the egg stays hot and cooks the yolk even if it's out of the water. |

for a large egg - i put into the water cold - bring to the boil for 3 minutes and switch off - pour out the hot water and put in cold water for about 15 seconds- - eat with dippy soldiers  |

I use one of those plastic contrapions that you put in the water with the eggs and indicates on a gauge when the egg is softly boiled. Still inportant to put the eggs into cold water afterwards or they do keep on cooking. |

They just become invisible as soon as I put them in the fridge. No matter how many times the fridge door is opened to look for something quick to eat, despite being in plain view on the front of any shelf, still in their coloured box, they always manage to block my eyes from seeing them until a few weeks after their expiry date. It's probably something to do with being free range. ;-D
Anyone else have this issue with eggs or anything else in the fridge? |

I do, because I used to have a stray cat come in and spray all over the place, including jumping on the work surfaces and spraying over anything and everything which was out. It's just easier and more hygienic to keep them in the fridge. Besides which, the box actually states to keep them refrigerated. I noticed this morning.  |
