I read something on t'interweb yesterday (I know how that sounds but it sounded plausible) about the French having a rule that says baggy shorts aren't to be worn in swimming pools, only tight budgie smugglers.
The reason they gave was that of pool cleanliness. Baggy shorts get worn as shorts and people spend their day in them and they end up getting dusty and dirty and then get in a pool transferring all the muck into the water. The theory was that blokes wouldn't wander round town in just budgie smugglers and so they were reserved for the pool and therefore cleaner.
So in a naturist resort, would they expect you to pop some on before going for a dip?
(Tongue in cheek question obviously)
Or was the law/rule just made up by some women/men who like the idea of blokes with neatly packaged tackle? |
