What the fuck use are they are at all on this planet?
Why don't thet eat s? They can't possibly be programmed to just eat juicy vegetable shoots and the nicest flowers in the garden.
I hate slugs. |

I hate caterpillars, I had a couple of nests of about 100 earlier this year. Lady next door was complaining all her geraniums got eaten by them, I kept quiet I didn't tell her they came from my garden.x |

Lol I feel your pain, they basically break down decaying vegetation, they do eat some s and yes leave others, they also do the same with lots of flowers and veg, however they do love juicy lettuce, try growing your lettuce on a table in pots, it's easier to guard the table legs with stuff like putting the legs into pots of water, stops the buggers crawling up there.... Use raised beds for growing, again it makes it a bit trickier for them, there's also a few other plants you can grow next to your lettuce that also puts them off. |

I think they're food for hedgehogs and birds, but that doesn't make them any less disgusting and revolting.
I used to have long haired cats who'd frequently bring slugs in on their fur .... like slug velcro .... you'd be idly stroking them and then realise you were stroking a slug ....

"I trod on a slug the other night in the garden..
I had no shoes on either...
Slug guts are really difficult to wash off..
Not the best way to deal with a slug problem, for sure.. "
Gross....
I have just been out with my torch and a salt shaker and committed slug mass murder. It felt good. |

Can't say I'm a fan of slugs either but, as always, we've invaded their environment not the other way round. I guess they eat other shoots as well it's just we notice more when it's our veggie ones. Crushed egg shells is a good deterrent and they help the condition of the soil as well |
