"Extra marital sex is against the law there. Sharing rooms with people you are not married to is against the law there. I am not excusing the men. I am not saying the Saudis laws are just. I am saying that if a man assaulted me sexually or raped me and I found him and shot him in cold blood. I'd expect to be arrested because shooting someone is against the law here." But that isn't a comparable crime. You chose to shoot your hypothetical attacker. A rape victim doesn't choose to have extra marital set with their attackers. | |||

What has this got to do with a woman being victimised for reporting a gang rape?! "Unless you have lived their you probably wouldn't understand, it's the most "Double Standard" place i have ever seen, Loads of local men (Strict Muslims) going off with Hookers etc. So really im just trying to paint a picture of how it is in Dubai for those who are unaware | |||

As awful as what happened to this woman is ... and it is terrible you'd have to be extremely naive and have never seen any previous press coverage to think it would be dealt with as it would here. She should have saved as much evidence as possible and got out of the country asap. | |||
