RIP. Many will thank him for the manoeuvre.
I was taught how to do it but I don't trust that I would be sufficiently tall enough or effective enough to do it properly. It can be dangerous if done badly.

Last first aid refresher course I did they explained they were no longer allowed to call it the Heimlich manoeuvre as the name was being trade marked by the Heimlich family and to use the name in books and courses you have to pay royalties. Its now called abdominal thrusts. (Just a bit of useless info for you)  |

why not? he invented it (so to speak) so his name will always be associated with it  |
