Was going to mail but I'm a sad single I keep blowing 6.5 door speaker just from a standard ford head unit which admittedly is mainly on full tilt but good enough for my commute or at least until the speaker get the rattle of death. Any idea of some that want cost a mint but can take my standard unit. I do like a bit of bass. I'm on my 3rd set in 6 months  |

Was going to mail but I'm a sad single I keep blowing 6.5 door speaker just from a standard ford head unit which admittedly is mainly on full tilt but good enough for my commute or at least until the speaker get the rattle of death. Any idea of some that want cost a mint but can take my standard unit. I do like a bit of bass. I'm on my 3rd set in 6 months "
You're clipping it to death. Either run them at a lower volume or turn the EQs down bass setting mainly.
I'd say get a cheap set of 2 way components so you'll have the frequencies separated. You'll have a 6.5 and a tweeter then. A coaxial speaker will just replace the 6.5 but they sound shit.
Honestly a cheap Headunit, small amp and a budget set of 2 way comps will sound waaaaaay better.
I'd never suggest anyone get coaxial speakers. Hertz DSKs are £85 brand new. Avoid the shit from Halfords such fli/edge and you'll be fine

I've got it all. a jvc dvd makes the coffee on the way to work head a mutant 4 channel big daft amp a base and I think 9 by somthing speakers but it's waiting for my next project. I work on a lot of cars so they come and go a lot. this is just a smoker till someone buys it. That's why I just need cheap 1s till it go's. so Jbl it is cheers dude  |

If it's all sat waiting for the next car, scrap the 6x9s for a small sub in a sealed enclosure. If you're gonna put comps up front you have no need for 6x9s at all. It'll sound awful.
What 6.5s keep popping btw?
