Sometimes, when people are talking about their problems as if they're world ending problems, I just want to slap the shit out them.
There is a child in Africa, who walks 5 miles for dirty water.
I saw a news report about how a woman with no arms looks after her child.
There are soldiers living with life changing injuries and PTSD.
There are children being abused.
Men and Women living in actual fear of there own mind.
But no, this dickhead Margaret's life is the worst of all because she's got to get up at 7:30am to do the school run.
Some people need to take 5 seconds to pour themselves a nice glass of clean water and shut the fuck up and put there little problems into prospective.
*Rant over
(P.S. I don't care if its not rant Thursday, I'm in a bad mood)
(P.P.S. Feel slightly better now) |

Putting the 'cum' in Eboracum |
People can be cross about their own lives yet still have compassion for others. I could say that the OP is being completely indulgent, ranting about someone being upset, and not appreciating that he has access to the internet to be able to rant.
But life is too short to judge others. |

But you're perspective of Margaret's life might be wrong. She might have depression and find getting out of bed very difficult - posting a complaint on social media may help her feel a bit better.
Like, I understand what you're trying to say but this idea of comparing the severity of issues when you're not fully aware of how it can affect people differently? Being annoyed or upset isn't a game whereby if you have a 'serious' enough issue you're entitled to your gripe. |

Well said mate completely agree, people need to think more positively! For instance, 'margeret' should be thankful she's got kids/grandkids to take on the school run in the first place.. soon get sick of having lie ins |

It's very possible to care about more than one thing at once.
And just because someone else is having a shittier day than you, doesn't mean that you can't be having a shitty one (and a whinge) too. |

Here's the Sox perspective......
There are people who spend their time an effort trying to help ease the plight of those in the world who are challenged with real problems,,,,,,,, but c'mon they certainly shouldn't be denied the whimsy of a little moan about the irritating things life throws at us all,,,,,,, should they Eh! really should they eh! |

I suppose the question I would ask is, what are you doing about all of those things? it's easy to criticise others for thinking about their first world problems but things will only change if people get out there and change them. so what are you doing about it? |

Iceland, but Aldi is closer.. |
A perspective on reality is a great thing to have..
Depression makes you lose that perspective and makes you seem irrational to others..
I don't know a single thing about Margaret and I'm just playing devil's advocate..
Or is that advocaat, I never remember.. |

You could be right, but unfortunately, there is people out there who are just plain selfish and don't care about anyone else in the world. Chances of ether are unfortunately the same |

A world of my own |
While I often read some posts on social media and think "ha you actually have it easy" or "get a grip" I know that no one really knows how someone else experiences life. We all have hard times, sad times and good times. So I say nothing.
I'm not in to complaining about my lot in life, I've always just got on with it (because I've had no choice) however as such I'm seen as the strong independent woman. I'm not actually allowed to struggle because it doesn't fit in with people's judgment of me. And that's a pretty lonely place at times.
Therefore I actually envy some people who do get listened to when they rant, they get lots of support or encouraging words. I would just get told to get on with it because I'm "strong". |

When is it ok to moan about your own personal stuff then, where's the graph?
On the stubbed toe_________dying scale, where would homelessness, pain, no bus fare and have to walk ten miles in the rain to get in to a cold an empty house feature against that African child? |

Yes they do but at the time it seems important to them.
I've heard of the deaths of two young children this week plus been watching the news regarding the London attack. It makes you realise what is really important. |

I dont volunteer my free hours every day. And i dont always put money in the charity jar.
But im currently getting myself into better shape so i can compete in tough mudder and marathons for sponsors. But its not just that. If i see a pensioner in the street struggling, ill help them get to where they are going. A woman struggling to get her pram through a door, I'll go out my way to open it for her. I may not be changing the world but the i try to help with the little things |

Ok OP, I'll also work your thinking in the opposite direction. I have no right to be happy about this beer in my hand because it pales into insignificance compared to some billionaire who has a new yacht. Next time i want to tell someone how joyful I am I shall remember to shut up because a billionaires life puts mine into perspective and only they have the right to be happy. |

Are you really mad are you really offended are you really bothered, social media is chock full of this sentiment and yet in reality i dont see many people actually doing shit about any of it except moaning from the comfort of their armchair with their phone in one hand and their cock in the other.
And lets be honest for most people thats as good as their day gets. |
