"When i was younger edward scissorhands freaked me the hell out. Still cant watch it x"
Snap! I can just about watch it now.
I couldn't watch Nightmare Before Christmas for ten years after my parents took me to see it at the cinema to see it when I was 5. The promo posters in the lobby scared me so much I hid under my mum's coat for the whole film. I love it now though. |

When I was a kid, whenever I saw a scary scene in a movie, my reaction would mainly be more like being frozen in fear from what I saw and whenever anyone had that movie on and that scary scene was coming up, I would calmly leave the room and come back when that scene is over.
I will admit that the ending of Raiders of the lost Ark was pretty terrifying with all the Nazis getting killed by lightning and the heads shrinking, melting and exploding.
I can still remember shooting out of the room when Donovan rapidly ages into dust after drinking from the wrong grail at the end of Last Crusade |

"Jaws as a kid. My mum banned me from watching it for screaming too much!
Least we all know how to make you scream now
Haha. Takes more than a shark to make me scream these days "
Jaws ain't got shit on me !! I don't just go straight in for the kill with one bite !! I like to take my time and really build up so maybe the scream would be a real long intense one !! |

Not a film I know but there was a public information film called "The Smoker of the Future"...terrified me as a child. If it came on, I'd scramble to switch the channel...it was a manual tv, no remote control...Google the ad or search youtube...its still disturbing but in hindsight a great piece of advertising... |

Totally agree, that scene is awesome and you're right about scary movies, there hasn't been a decent one in years, women in black was probably the last good scare movie I saw. |

Well it was always the anticipation of the bite that got me! |

Theres one scene in Exorcist III which is pretty shocking but it takes a very slow burn to get there so..like The Shining, you've to be prepared for a long haul.
Eyes Wide Shut nearly stopped me swinging..but the women were just too beautiful.
Others..Jacob's Ladder, Texas Chainsaw, original Evil Dead and the TV series Salem's Lot. |

The Exorcism of Emily Rose, I had nightmares for 3 nights on the bounce. Also Dark Skies, Tonic asked me to watch it with her and being a bloke that enjoys a good Sci fi flick I agreed.
I just can't take the stuff that plays with your mind, blood and gore isn't a problem but the deeper darker stuff freaks me out. |
