Personally I like to try to find a positive to every negative, I try to see the silver lining in the dark cloud.
I also like to try to see the lighter side of things, my reason... If I don't things can drag me down.
So, for me the silver lining is communities appear to be pulling together again, people are publicly supporting the police much more, so hopefully a change in the tide, who knows the government might even look at the police situation again, give them more powers and put more out there instead of taking away.
What if any are the silver linings for you?

I so agree with you and when I was watching the news a few mins ago I felt that community spirit was definitely growing. I, too, like to see a positive side in everything even if sometimes it seems to others a tad naive.
