Just wanted to take time out to pay tribute to the the three lads who were savagely murdered last night on the streets of Birmingham. So sad and tragic. Didn't know them personally but 2 of them were close mates of my cousins. They were amzing guys with good personalitys. Good men trying to protect their livelihoods and community. Just hope their families receive the justice they deserve and the bastard who did it rots in prison. RIP! |

Only found out about this this afternoon .
Dreadful news and my heart goes out to the families. I hope they catch them and deal with them swiftly and firmly.

There have been two contrasts on the BBC News tonight.
One was the woman, presumably a mother who was sounding off big-time at a guy who had dared to contradict her _iew that it was right for her little darlings and others to riot.
The other _iew, was the Father of the son killed in Birmingham last night. He showed such strength of character and composure; there was no vengeance, no hatred in his voice, just praise about his son and what he stood for.
Even the locals said there won't be any retaliation, there'll be no revenge attacks. They'd nothing but respect for the lads who were killed.
Laudable acts of compassion; it is indeed a shame that a lot more people haven't had the same strength of character to behave the same way.
His stance is the way forward, if only to show others how it can be done! |

I saw both news reports you are talking about and your post is spot on.
The mans father even tried CPR on one of the victims before realising one of the other victims was his son.
And then you get the woman who was defending her darling and when the other man objected the kid told him off, and she didn't do anything other than argue... says it all doesn't it.

The young guys father is a credit to himself and I can only imagine what his son was like as a person! The composure and belief in his son was joyus in what is a terrible situation. They were helping to peacefully protect when someone seems to have deliberately mown them down.
Cut to the other side of the street... "Iss to get back at da rich, innit!". "I iss fed up wiv the oppression of us effnics, no one as da right to push us about". "If I want somfin, I just go aht an tayk it man. Why shood a body ave somfin I want if I can't afford it?"
THAT is why this is not a racial problem! The first and third "statements" were both from white kids! and here we have three young men, defending their and others property. All Asian and all just after what their families moved here for in the first place, a better life.
It is the same with the vast majority of people in the UK, but it is the few that will get the fame.... So sad.
And of those three guys? I didn't know em, I never would have known em, but I sure as fuck wish I had! Rest in Peace guys... |

I just hope that this is the end of it all. And everything can start getting back to normal. Been hearing alot of _umours about Asian men planning revenge attacks but I hope they just stay _umours. There really is no point of any retaliation. We really don't need another Bradford! |

How dignified and strong of the young mans father. A true inspiration during these troubled days. A father so proud of his son.I can only imagine the hurt and anguish his family and the family of the other 2 lads are going through.
3 young lives wiped out without a thought or care. No parent should ever bury a child, no least in these horrid circumstances.
I hope that they find comfort with family, friends and through there faith.
