This is a misconception. I refer back to an episode of 'Qi' where it was explained that the 'I before E except after C' rule, actually has a greater number of exceptions. The rule is wrong  |

its a rule not a law. Therefore there are exceptions. If it were a law rather than a rule, there would be “no exceptions to the rule” per se |

Laws are rules that are legally enforcible, except Newton's Laws, they can't be policed. |
