I was recommended to download Malware bytes and AVG to protect my phone, but it has made it sooooo slow!!!!!

Have I downloaded dud websites or is so sensitive it checks everything throughly?

I have malwarebytes and although not AVG I have another AV software package on my phone. I just use it to do periodic checks rather than having it always run in the background, so not normally affected by the slowdown.
