Just a query... if you come across someone on here and you've saw an article in the paper and they've a criminal record..... do you say? Do you advise others? Do you keep your nose out?

Report the profile to Admin - referring them to the documented evidence - and then block.
Depends on the nature of the convictions, whether it would affect their membership here or the safety of other members. |

Nothing at all to do with me what their past maybe.
Also there is something in the justice system I recall about people having served their sentence as decided by the court then being released.
Why is it then our place to "out" anyone e.g. criminal whose served sentence, fabstraight, etc etc etc rather than giving them the chance to get on with their life... just like the rest of us do. |

I nice had a meet with a guy from here who was serving a sentence in an open prison at the time. Nice looking guy and a very decent fuck.
I didn’t feel the need to report him or warn anyone. Not sure what that would achieve.

Same. Think the nature of the crime would be the deciding factor.
I automatically jumped to the scenario being violence or r*pe.
The site terms and conditions do say somewhere those on the Sexual Offenders Register arenot allowed on here I believe. |

Neither was I specifically. It's a simple point. The concept of breaking another's privacy for whatever reason...ie "outing" them seems just a little like the current trend for naming and shaming.
Perhaps it's OK if it's done to others. But if and when it's done to you, for whatever reason...

About that ‘something you recall’. It rather contradicts the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act, which says that a conviction may not be ‘spent’ immediately after the sentence ends.
Some are, but some remain for varying amounts of time after the end of their sentence. Bear in mind that most are released before the end of their sentence, and it could be a long time before it is considered ‘spent’.
Then you’ve got sex offenders, who are monitored by the Police, sometimes for even longer. Some of them might be breaking their court orders by being on here.
Even disregarding the exact times of spent/unspent convictions, this country’s justice system isn’t very good at rehabilitation.
Would I feel comfortable letting someone into my home if they committed shoplifting 15 years ago? Probably. Would I feel comfortable if they’d painted a few forgeries? Probably. Would I be comfortable if they had unspent convictions for theft by housebreaking / burglary? No.
Would women feel comfortable meeting somebody who’d done prison sentences for rape or attempted rape? Some might, but others definitely would not.
I was going to raise the point that it is more than likely against the Ts&Cs of the site, but I see Etonmess confirmed that.
I’m all for people being allowed to get on with their lives. However, I think sometimes some people have demonstrated that they should have a limit to their freedoms. Let’s face it, Fab isn’t exactly a human right or an everyday need. It is a luxury and, I’m sorry, but it’s a luxury that some can live without for the safety and comfort of others. |

The courts decide the sentence and conditions attached. They are part of the punishment for the crime. Some convictions are never spent and therefore have to be declared for the rest of a person's life.
The Rehabilitation of Offenders Act is not about continuing that punishment beyond what the courts award.
It is in essence a right to have the conviction disregard after whatever period specified in the act dependant upon the conviction.
You want to play don't conflate two completely separate parts of the justice system. Or their purpose.

I come into contact with offenders every day through my job. The ones I deal with are on licence release. If I see any of them on here I report it to admin and tontheir probation officer. If I see people who are off licence and not under supervision, I block and move on. They've done their time, not up to me to out them. |

He was in an open prison and went to work during the day. I had a social with him one lunchtime then met to play a few days later |

If they have a criminal record it does not stop them being on this site unless it also includes being on the sex offenders register in which case I would report to admin. Otherwise block and keep my nose out. |

Yes. But the fact that it’s not immediate also implies that there is a period of time during which people have a right to know, hence the disclosure. A ‘right to be forgotten’ is always balanced with a right to know.
