Daydreaming

Do you ever daydream about other worlds?

You know, like I lie down on my bed and look up at the ceiling and there’s a rhombus of sunlight reflecting off the window, bright and glinting immediately above my head. As I look at it and the intensity of the light, I suddenly start imagining as if it’s a portal somewhere else. As if one could go through it and be elsewhere, and what that place might be like. And then I realise that I’ve been staring at this sunlight on the ceiling for longer than I thought, and in my head I have ideas for a book.

Just me? Or do you really daydream?

Oh no, I daydream a lot.

But not about other worlds, about what most men daydream about

I have some pretty lucid dreams, can never fully recall them though

I think daydreaming's a sign of an active mind

As a child I did this a lot. I loved other world films and fantasy books, but I grew out of it when I had my family.

I’ve been told I have “a rich interior landscape”, I love to daydream. Maybe I should actually write something, I draw as it’s quicker and I can find words tricky, being able to express exactly what I’m feeling in words and language is very hard I’ve decided.

Aha! I’m naked right now. It’s hot, and I wanted to lie down with the fan on me!

Have been doing that most evenings this week, and this morning. It's when I do most of my day dreaming, well fantasizing

You should write, even if it's just a stream of conscious. Try not to over think what you write and let it just flow out

I want someone to lick my skin and then blow lightly on me.

I think daydreaming is part of the mental processing to help us accomplish things, so you may find it’s not wasted time but actually helping you achieve!

Seems alot more plausible than there just being one universe. If there are infinite possibilities, then there are infinite universes, infinite worlds and everything is possible, a monkey types the works and Shakespeare and even this reality and lifetime repeats itself an infinite number of times. You just need a compass and a subtle knife to cut through to the another universe simples

When I hear a calm sea I often drift off to a holiday years ago and I remember laying on the sun lounger (that in itself is unusual) and I can hear the sea but I can feel the warmth as well. It’s difficult to explain but it’s a warm memory that makes me think about the sea, the clouds, the sky. It’s like it’s daydreaming prompted by a memory, which is prompted by a sound or smell etc. I’ll be quiet now

In a town Fab forgot

Top marks on use of the word rhombus.

I've dreamt of seeing that in a forum post.

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. A Ford Capri on fire off the hard shoulder of the North Circular. I watched fairy lights glitter in the dark near the Bishopsgate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain.

I dream of a fantasy world where people open messages you PM them privately to various threads.

But it is just a flight of fancy.

I tend to actively daydream. I start imagining a situation I want to happen and then let my thoughts take over.
