Mine has a kink. It's annoying at times.

Does anyone else have days when all they want to do is pee?

Yes. No idea why and it has no correlation with the amount I drink.

strange, I've found there to be a direct correlation between drinking and bathroom usage for me

I do and I believe it's a sign of being peri-menopausal. Especially if it's the week before you are due.

I'm the same. Conversely, there are days I drink a lot and don't pee as often.

Somewhere In The Ether…

Here’s my question; I drink one glass of wine.

Why do I subsequently then piss out the equivalent of two? Where has this extra liquid materialised from?! Am I harbouring some form of quantum wormhole like anomaly in my bladder?!

Not necessarily. Mine started at 36 but my sister didn't until she was 45.

BOGOF. You piss wine? Just bottle it and drink it again.

Seriously, we extract liquid from everything with liquid in it.

I was about 50 and reached menopause at 58, I got pregnant at 46. My gynaecologist told me he knew of a woman of 62 still having regular periods. Her perimenopause must have started somewhere in her 50s. Its down to improved nutrition apparently

I manage mine by only drinking two cups of tea a day, and only decaffeinated. Other than tea I only really drink water.

I have a sensitive bladder than likes to withold my pee and drop a bit when I run.

I know. When I was told mine had a kink the doctor said that I should handle it by just having another go immediately after I'd had a pee.

They're also connected to the brain. Problems there can show up as bladder problems.

Not with me. I am on the low side of perfect at 104/77 (last check two weeks ago).

Possibly need to drink a little more.

I only drink water. I eat fruits and vegetables, so food had liquid in it. Anymore and I'd be sloshing around.

I've got really low blood pressure, so much so that it scares doctors when I'm ill. I wonder if there's a connection...

Maybe we should ask? Mine has also dropped to scary low levels.

"

So has mine.

I don't think they know. I made the connection between that and my thyroxine levels myself and had to suggest that they were checked.

Low blood pressure could be caused by loss of fluid and salts I suppose.

Once in hospital they pumped two litres of fluid into me to raise my blood pressure. I was peeing that day I can tell you

They didn't do that for me. Well, except as blood. A 14 hour transfusion. I felt better than I have ever felt in my life.

They do say that you might pee more post menopause.

I have a friend with this and she was advised to rock backwards and forwards when she felt she'd finished.

I thought mine was to do with my other medication. I do quite a bit of walking most days to keep my heart rate up.

So do I. Underactive thyroid and low blood pressure go hand in hand. I found that if I was taking too high a dose of thyroxine I was peeing much, much more.

Thank you. Medication also features across the posts. I'm not on any so my data set has too many variables.

I don't have what is coyly referred to on the tena ads ads "sensitive bladder" i.e. incontinence. It's just that some days I really hope that meeting doesn't go on too long or I don't get caught in traffic on the way home.

That's me too. I didn't mean a Tena moment. Although I have considered getting some for long journeys because it always gets more urgent just as you get to the front door.

I think that's psychological. The problem (for me anyway) is that I can worry if I have a situation ahead of me where I know I won't be able to go and the anxiety actually makes me think I need too, like a vicious circle. 9.5 times out of 10 I'm fine and have wasted all that energy on worrying about it. The times Mr N has screeched to a halt by a convenient bush

"Mine has a kink. It's annoying at times.

Does anyone else have days when all they want to do is pee?

Mines like that every day and every night. Drives me mad. I have an irritable bladder apparently !

Have you tried cranberry, or is that just for infection?

Iv tried and still try everything possible. The only thing that might help is botox injections in my bladder but the side effects are worse and iv coped for 50 plus years now lol

How do you manage with sex?

It doesnt affect me having sex. Im not incontinent. I just go loo to pee frequently.

Have you tried medications? "

Yes. Iv tried many things. Iv been seeing a consultant for over 13 years about the issues.

"I do and I believe it's a sign of being peri-menopausal. Especially if it's the week before you are due.

Is that some sort of hot flush?

Is today humour by-pass day? "

Everyday is humour bypass day.

It's the social component of sequencing for peeing: If you think of all the steps it takes to pee such as full bladder telling brain it needs to empty, brain telling body to mobilise to a (socially acceptable place) toilet, if it's a strange place your brain will set the next steps in motion such as adjusting clothing and sitting before the let down reflex causes you to pee. When it's your own home, your brain knows it's acceptable - so bloody get a move on cos your bladder sphincter is opening and you're praying the pelvic floor muscles are working

.

I'll have to train my brain that the front door isn't a safe acceptable place.
