I’m not one to give credit to conspiracy theories and I believe that we did land men on the moon.
I watched a documentary on Netflix about it last night and the evidence of it being an elaborate hoax is hard to ignore. Not just things like shadows and the flag flapping but other things like the lack of blast craters from the rockets that allow the capsule to land softly. The same scenery in the photos which are supposed to be at different sites miles apart. Quite a few so called whistle blowing astronaughta dying in mysterious circumstances.
It’s worth a watch. |

Actually the moon landing conspiracy fantasy is perfectly easy to ignore.
The so-called discrepancies have been explained and debunked a million and one times but the fantasists still choose to ignore rational explanation.
The documentary is nothing but lazy journalism.... |

Some things were explained away by a nasa spokesman but others such as the backdrop of photos being identical to other photos supposedly miles apart or the crosshairs that are etched into the camera lenses being hidden by things in the photos were not explained or acknowledged by the nasa guy. |

Actually it has been ...
The cameras were fitted with a Réseau plate.
A clear glass plate with the cross hairs etched on making it impossible for objects photographed to appear in front of the grid.
The claim is that the crosshairs are behind the object.
This only appears in scanned or copied images and ont on the originals. Due to overexposure. Meaning the bright white areas of the emulsion bleed over the thin black line.
Next, conspiracy fantasy.... |

Have they really, it said in the show that no telescope existed that could zoom in to show such small items so far away. |

That’s interesting. Obviously the show makers want the viewer to believe the conspiracy so will ignore some facts that debunk their evidence. I’m not a conspiracy theorist by the way. I believe we did land on the moon and I think the fact that Russia has never suggested that the yanks faked it as proof enough that we did. The Russians were watching with a keen eye so any suggestion it was fake would have been all over the news. |

My theory, (and possibly others' - I haven't looked) is that man has landed on the moon, but didn't on the first occasion 16th July 1969. Many experts have said that the technology for the actual landing wasn't completed then, but there was such a desperate race for supremacy between the US and The USSR that the Americans actually launched the vehicle and took it into moon's orbit, but it didn't actually land then. At the time, the Russians said it was false, but in those days very little news got out of the USSR, and any that did was instantly de-bunked by the US. It was odd that another moon mission was undertaken just a few months later in November 1969 - precisely the time frame for the landing tech to be ready. I think all markings on the surface that are visible now, come from this, and future landings. |

A world all of his own |
Over 330,000 people worked at NASA at the time of the launch.
Countless tens of thousands of amateur astronomers followed the launch.
The Russians, whom the Americans "beat" in the race to the moon never ONCE uttered a single word about it being a fake.
Think I'll go with the actual facts. |

"The theory is great apart from the fact telescopes have photographed the lunar landers on the moon."
And your assumption is great apart from the fact that they didn't use a lunar rover until apollo 15 (30-07-1971) when the 'first' manned lunar landing is recorded as apollo 11 (20-07-1969).
There are a lot of wooley explanations for the discrepancies and while there are many die hard conspiracy theorists, there are equally just as many people who believe we're always told the truth.
The apollo missions were right in the middle of the cold war and America had already been upstaged with the first person in space, so its not too hard to imagine they wanted to save face and be the first to the moon, even if that wasn't exactly on the date they said...it would certainly reduce the need for USSR to pop there right after- people rarely remeber or care about who was second |

The moon landings happened during a period of time, when the US & the USSR were both battling for supremecy in the "space race"
If there was any shred of doubt it actually happened, the Russians would have moved heaven & earth to prove so.
The fact they didn't, speaks volumes. |

I think you need to understand the Van-Allen Belts. There are 2 main belts inner and outer. The inner is the more dangerous one as it contains energised protons .
The Apollo space craft passed through this belt in a matter of minutes. The astronauts were shielded from the effects of the ionising radiation by the aluminium hull of the spacecraft.
The trajectory to the moon was chosen to lessen any possible radiation exposure....
The pattern of the Van Allen belts was well understood at the time of the moon landings |

NASA 2012:-
"NASA is still seeking to develop technology to safeguard humans for spaceflight into radiation-laden space within and beyond the Van Allen Radiation belts, and the protection provided by our magnetosphere.”
“Until that technology is available, our exploits into space will continue to be well below the beginning of radiation belts so intense, Van Allen called them a SEA of DEADLY RADIATION. What we know from the effects of radiation on Earth teaches us that Apollo was nothing more than mere FANTASY.” |

The priorities changed from beating the Russian to the moon to sataliite technology and the militarisation of space and near earth orbits. Remember Regan’s star Wars program ?

The soviets did make a huge song and dance about the 1969 landings being faked! Don't forget, at the time of the height of the Cold War, the USSR was a "closed" country. All international telephone lines and postal services were monitored, television signals were weak and could only be received locally, the news agency "Tass" was state controlled and was the only news service allowed to exist. Both the US and USSR were heavily into propaganda, and in many cases, no other info was available due to it being restricted. |

Being born a year before it ‘allegedly’ happened, and given the importance of the so-called space race between the Russians and the USA. Why is it that (again allegedly) the USA having won, didn’t consolidate that win and develop a base and space warfare, as Reagan proposed? Or the Russians continue to press on to land on the moon themselves and take a similar route? Let’s face it their not exactly backwards in coming forwards! |

And the prolonged stay to “catapult” them.
Equally how did they know the intensity of two or three belts with the technology and computing capacity less than a calculator.
Also why has no other country laid claim to the moon?
We can only just survive in the Artic. |

The Van Allen belts were originally mapped by the Explorer 1, Explorer 3 and Pioneer 3 spaces probes during the 1950’s and were well understood by the time of the moon landings..
You need to be exposed to approximately 300 rad of radiation within the space of an hour or so to experience radiation sickness.
The Apollo astronauts were within the belts for a couple of hours....
If they were on the outside side of the spacecraft the would have only received a dose of about 18 rads. But they were inside a shielded craft and over the 12 day mission they were exposed to just 0.18 rads a similar dosage to a chest x-ray.
Dr Jame Van Allen the discoverer of these belts is on record of rebutting claims that radiation levels were too harmful for the Apollo missions....
...... and for the next one....

I think the landing was real, but some of the photos are fake. Prepaired incase the Van-Allen belts fogged the film or other feckupd. It cost the US tax payer Billions so they had to play safe.
I worked out the lighing angle were "wrong" in some of the photos produced by NASA many years before the conspiracy theorys hit the internet. |

The film was kept in metal container so to prevent any possible fogging. In manned probes Luna 3 and lunar orbiter both used on-board film development and their film was not fogged which puts pay to the Van Allen radiation myth.
As for the lighting angles being wrong. Shadows on the moon area complicated by uneven ground, reflected light, wide angle lens distortion. Additionally there are multiple light sources on the moon. Direct sunlight plus sunlight reflecting from the earth, the surface of the moon, the astronauts, and the Luna module. This cause the light to be scattered in many directions by Luna dust. Which cause things like shadows having vanish points, craters and hills will appear distorted.
As there is no atmosphere on the moon far away objects will appear clearer and near due to no atmospheric haze to obscure these items...

I've seen too much of that kind of cr*p over the years. ALL their "evidence" is readily discredited - and there have been umpteen other programmes doing just that.
A couple of other thoughts - don't let Buzz Aldrin know you have doubts - he'll chin you. He gets quite passionate.
I'm of sufficient age to have watched live on tv - I have no doubt whatsoever.
The biggest fact in favour of the moon landings being genuine is that the Russians did NOTHING at the time to attempt to discredit. If they could have done they surely would have. |

Interesting facts
There is a time in recorded ancient history before the moon was in orbit around our planet check out pelasgians..
The moon has crators, but none are as deep as they should really be, if you compare to earth |

"The moon landings happened during a period of time, when the US & the USSR were both battling for supremecy in the "space race"
If there was any shred of doubt it actually happened, the Russians would have moved heaven & earth to prove so.
The fact they didn't, speaks volumes.
For those who refuse to believe the science, this in itself should be sufficient evidence that it happened.

Not really facts....
The name Pelasgians was used by classical Greek writers to either refer to populations that were the ancestors or forerunners of the Greeks. First mentioned in the poems of Homer. Though there are no actual Pelasgian texts.
The craters on the moon are of different depths... some even contain complete mountain ranges...
Comparing impact craters on a planetary body with an atmosphere to one without is a not a direct comparison.....
You might as well compare the mountains on Earth to the mountains on Jupiter. |

while i believe in this case it is just a conspiracy theory, i can understand why so many people believe in it.
After all when you realise that virtually every major Country in the world is controlled by scheming politicians and the people that help pull their strings, then it is no wonder people are willing to believe that a Govt would be capable of such deceit. |

True, we are completely controlled down to what the media choose to show us etc. |

Today's cell phones have like 50 times the processing power that the Apollo rockets computers had, but back then a lot of things were done manually..such as Armstrong switching the controls of the moon lander to manual so that he could touch down.
To think back at how poor our technology was and for us to make it to the moon, I can understand where the conspiracy theorists get their grounds from. I think it is just that though, a conspiracy |

It is easy to have opinions, but the weight of evidence is quite clear - man did land on the moon. Strangely fire was invented more than 5 minutes ago & da Vinci sketched helicopters in advance of them being able to be built. Human beings have not needed the internet for the majority of our history and somehow managed to achieve one hell of a lot.
If in doubt read some science, not internet conspiracy garbage.
Science: the intellectual and practical activity encompassing the systematic study of the structure and behaviour of the physical and natural world through observation and experiment.
Opinion: a view or judgement formed about something, not necessarily based on fact or knowledge. |

"I’m not one to give credit to conspiracy theories and I believe that we did land men on the moon.

We left physical infrastructure there, which we could target our own tech here at, that gives us an accurate measurement capability to measure the changing distance from us to it
Research who started this conspiracy theory that we didn't go |

Jeez, not still on about this??????
As Sophie says, we can measure the tech left on the moon from here on earth....reflectors up there have had laser light bounced off them more times than a gang bang member has bounced off a king size bed. |

I saw an interview with Michael Collins recently. He's very old now, I think 89. I was surprised at how sharp his mind still is and how clearly he speaks.
I can't say the same for his other surviving crewmate however...
Oh Buzz, what a character. I will miss him when he's gone. Hopefully he will have some good years yet. I would normally never make fun of someone who's had drinking problems, but the clip of him turning up in a wrestling ring and being given applause, but then going on ranting - clearly having guzzled a drink or 10 - while they try to usher him off, was a real laugh.

"We didnt"
50 years since we did...
It that time technology and our understanding of science and the cosmos has increased dramatically...
Yet in all this progress one thing has forever remained constant.......
You just can’t teach, Stupid !!!
