Is there certian people on here that sticks to a group like they are back at school and just never grown up to embrace all kinds of people. Or do you believe it your choice who you play with and just to sick with the click. And are you the ring leader of such a click

okay.. On anywhere.. be it a real life group, online you get groups of people that are on the same wavelengths.. So they will perhaps all get into certain threads.

For example.. the bdsm ones there are about 10 of us that will all say our piece in defence.. and there are just as many that will post against..

its because we all feel strongly on those points..

On the cheating and being on here.. you get a group that is against..and a group that thinks that its not our business .. you get the ones that think its nothing to judge but wont play.. etc etc...

I woudlnt say its clicks.. just that over time you will notice the same people posting on certain threads.. but there are things I wont comment on.. things I wont get involved in because I feel I have nothing to add..

I think it tends to be same.. and I am certainly no different on here to in real life.. actually no.. I am a little more held back on here.

So who do op think are the ring leaders ?? Some have strong _iews .. but it is a forum. I think 3 or 4 years ago on fab it was war of words not so much respect.. i look back and read some of the old posts its alot better now i feel . You will always get people being friends as meet each other at clubs and partys and are friends .

thing is.. is it a clique when friends that perhaps know each other off the site stick together.. No its just friends..

Newbies do tend to have to fight their way in to be accepted..and there seems to be hidden acceptance rules.. but I wouldnt say it was a clique..

I can be guilty of upsetting a certain group.. but yet sometimes I say something.. get backlash, and its those very same people suddenly defending me..

The thing with forums like this is that a lot of the time its not just faceless internet strangers.. people have often met the people they are being accused of being clique with...

What do you class/consider a clique OP?

If there was such a thing on here would you want to be part of it?

My oppinion.

We all have our own ideals, comments and oppinions, some are shared with others some disregard them as rubbish.

When someone makes a comment it can ruffle feathers and maybe that was the intention or it could have been taken out of context and misread.

Sometimes (rarely) most people will agree to someones thoughts that they openly share.

At the end of the day we are all different and all _iews on here will be different, it's up to the individual reading how they interperet things.

Some people on here know each other personally and some don't and their comments between each other may seem 'cliquey'.

if your just on about forums well most forums busy or not are like this, theres always people who come on and spend maybe too much time on here chatting and getting into all sorts of topics, and others that are much more part time or occassional posters

regulars eventually talk to each other and get along and become friendly, its just how foruns go. if you want like that then you will get there with regular posting.

if you mean a clique to get meets well it probs depends on who you trying to get meets, sure some couples and groups may clique up and talk about others between each other etc but they more people who arnt all linked together as well.

See the word clique banded about forums and chatrooms , what i fail to understand is why people feel the need to class a group of friends as a clique , is it jealousy ?

Forums and chatrooms alike have regular people posting or chatting in them and those said people form friendships .

Equally there are people from the site who actually meet each other regularly now far be it from me to think it is only right to speak to your friends , after all if it was real life and u were in a pub , would u pass ur friends to go chat to the strangers sitting at the table behind ?

I would have said, reading this thread and the way everyone followed on with the first two posts from Game... There is what is perceived to be the clique! Always the same people, posting irrelevance on a thread that was, after all a reasonable one.

Funny thing is, as I posted on another thread, the clique deniers in any cross section of people are the ones that are perceived to be in that clique by others. Normally no one leader, but once one posts something, they all follow suit because they want to be “in”. No one wants to be “out”.

Of course everyone will say that they are not worried if they are in or out, but human nature being what it is, we all want to be loved…

Nowt wrong with that at all and although people will deny, they do exist here as everywhere else! Maybe not so prominent on here because we only spend a small amount of time in the forums, but I am in a number of cliques in my life!

If by sticking to a group you mean having a laugh, a banter and can agree with those who share similar thoughts sense of humour and sexual practices then Yes.

I can be the life and soul when out with friends so could that class me as a ring-leader?

I am definitely head of my household ( another clique I'm in?) therefore the ring-leader there.

I am a member of many groups/collections of people/cliques, call them what you like.

I've yet to understand what posters mean when they come onto the forums or into the chatrooms and talk about 'THE clique's' though.

Often the perception of a 'clique' comes from a coalition of people with the same idea or opinion; on occasion it could be mis-interpreted as something more, especially if a minority disagrees with a majority _iew.

Or as Obi Wan said - "What I told you was true, from a certain point of _iew"

There are people that know each other very well, probably outside of the forums and often the occasional posters or those who don't (or haven't) got together socially may feel that they are "missing the joke", so to speak.

At the end of the day, its all a game of perception and opinion. To some it can be seen as a 'clique', to others not. Its all in your own opinion.

To quote the great Harry Callahan : Opinions are like assholes - Everybody's got one.

But then again, what would I know, Im just an opinionated asshole.

The problem with world domination is what do you do once you've achieved it? Where do you go from there?

Plus, I can only imagine the administrative overhead of keeping the world running just wouldn't make it worth it! Imagine all the paperwork!

Starting a thread that looks like it is a critisim of forum posters will get certain reactions from people......just the same as it seems to depend on the first few posts after an OP as to how a thread will go.

There is nothing wrong with people answering their own friends on the forums and there is nothing wrong with people disagreeing with others on a forum.

No one is saying the forums is a fluffy place 24 hours a day and sometimes there is nastiness too, but if people can't accept that some will disagree with your posts and it isn't always personal...then maybe forums are not for them.

On the subject of bullying....we have had many mails accusing most people of bullying at some time or another, and that includes people who have in the past complained there is bullying on the forums....it just shows you how people look at things.

I'm going to play devils advocate maybe the op feels like what he says is always wrong no matter how correct or incorrect it is. Maybe they feel I un welcomed when a comment is posted? As if their opinion may not be heard of acknowledged? There are numbers of ways to see this. If this is how they feel like there is a clique culture then that's how the op feels. Yes there are... a few "brady bunch's" of cliques here and in the cam world... Nothing wrong with it, people are attracted to who ever they feel comfortable and stronger around, and some like myself shy away from it.

I have see some instances where people talk one anthers business to other members of their clique and it gets around.

As we all know, it has its pro's and cons... but i know my own stance...

I suppose what is one persons Clique is anothers group of frineds using chat rooms to keep in touch, swap gossip, arrange meets and socials etc.

As an outsider to that group it can come over as being a closed shop.

But then is that any different to any other site / chat room or the local pub ?

I have never yet found a group or room that total ignores or excludes me or anyone else.

the only people that i have seen turned on by any group are the 'look at me i am gods gift' types.

or the 'get you kit off' types the first time they go in a room.

There are groups of people who share a similar outlook. Some people do know each other personally, though I don't believe just because you've met people you need to be agreeing with their _iewpoint all the time.

It could be that someone posts something that a lot of people on the forum disagree with. We all have different opinions, likes, dislikes, life experiences etc. if you truly believe what you've typed and that is your opinion then stand by it. It could be that someone offers a differing point that you hadn't thought of. The ability to listen as well as talk is key.

There are people that you don't warm to, there are people you know haven't warmed to you, there are often pm's flying around about posters on here. Its not important though, people on fab are not really important in the grand scheme of life, one switch off the pc and they're gone, that's how I look at it.

There are things all of us dislike and this will differ. I don't like comments, as seen on this thread, about popcorn and cups of tea etc. I dislike fence sitters, its not debate its often belittling of an opening post and I see no point in typing irrelevant comments, but that's just me, other people will see it as having fun and being friendly

People often read more into the fact people are into the same things or share _iews than exists...i hope cali doesnt mind me sying we have never met, however i would love too...but a few people have asked how long we have been friends and if assumed we know each off site...

The fact certain people will have stuff in common and agree on certain subjects doesnt make them a clique...i cannot think of one subject all regular posters agree on except timewasting... where the advice comes with the wisdom of swinging experience.

Which is another point that those who cry clique should consider. i remember pointing out to the dear departed soapy that we had 50 years of swining experience behind us...

Doesnt make us right, does mean we have seen most questions before and have experience of what works and doesnt...if a group of people are agreeing on something it might be worth thinking, well they have seen more of this than i have, perhaps it is worth taking on board what they are saying.

The c word is normally used by 2 groups...those who dont use other forums, because they all have regulars and an element of group think, and those who do not like the answers that have been given to a thread.

I think it can sometimes be perceived as a clique, especially if you are new or an irregular poster on forums. From what I've seen on forums, not just here, it comes across as a clique when its regular posters whether they know eachother off here or not.

Some have similar (not identical) _iews, others have totally opposite opinions.

As I was told, just post, because you'll be damned if you do damned if you dont.

I only post on threads that I feel I can contribute to, but will try and avoid threads about certain contentious subjects. Maybe that makes me a fence sitter, but at least my ass is cushioned

I don't get the comments about 'followers' and 'ring leaders'. You don't have to be a 'follower' to be in a clique/group, you just have to get on with the other members or agree on a common cause.

To avoid being in a clique or group under some of the definitions above you would have to take an alternative _iew on everything purely to be contrary which is absurd and virtually impossible.

Clique is just a word, you have cliques/groups inside these forums, also I would describe the forum users inside of Fab a clique to the rest of the site users. I would then go on to say Swingers are a clique within society, you can extrapolate it out as far as you want. Snore.

Humans will always group.

I will guarantee as sure as shit that some perceived members of a clique don't even know they are in one. It's all about perception and dare I say, paranoia.

So lets have a look at the facts.

A clique could be a family, a group of friends or a gathereing of some kind.

So OP (or anyone), next time you have a get together with friends for a bit of fun or you have a family gathering you are in a clique.
