The aging process has caught up with me...

Jump to: Newest in thread

I can finally say my metabolism isn't quite working the way it did 2 or even 1 year ago.

Time to start eating reduced fat cheese and do extra cardio after gym

Anyone else had sudden realisation of aging process?

Fair few in the remaining hair on my head When I grow a beard it's a permutation of brown, ginger and grey. Worse for me is the hairs on my chest are gradually becoming more grey. Thankfully nothing grey further south yet

Oh my your still a youngster, you shouldn’t be worrying about things like that !

I’m nearly 49, I’ve never thought about getting old.... yes I might look in the mirror now and go ‘ooops more wrinkles and the grey starting to creep through’ but you are only old as you feel or if you let your mind think you are.

I’m still in my early 30s in my mind

I noticed in my mid 40's that my everyday activities were no longer maintaining my body so that's when I became a gym regular. I still do the things I did in my 30's, it just aches afterwards now. On the whole, I'm okay. Still way more active than most of my peers. It's about mindset. think yourself old, and you will be.

I hate the ageing process!!!

I've suddenly started putting on weight!!

I've never had the problem before. I've always been able to maintain my weight.

Suddenly the menopause hits me and "Boom"! Even though I gym 4-5 times a week I'm still gaining pounds....

And don't get me started on the vaginal dryness!!!

"I hate the ageing process!!!

Seriously!! Mother nature is a bitch from hell!!!

Totally agree the menopause is lethal

I went straight from what I thought was perfect vision to needing progressives permanently

This!! Although at 34 I do get told I look “about 26 or 27” (not sure why so precise an estimate) a lot of the time when I reveal my age. So I think in reality I’m the same age as the OP. Yay

I can’t say I’ve noticed that. What has slowed down is my desire to train like a mad man.

Time to start eating reduced fat cheese and do extra cardio after gym

Anyone else had sudden realisation of aging process?"

God, you must be abusing your body! I can still walk 10 miles and recently went hiking in the lake district. My partner commented on my energy and I am 61!

Lol, I was expecting you to be my age op, had to chuckle when I saw how old you actually are.

The aging process is partially determined by genetics and partially determined by life style, one you can control the other not.

I’m 52 and still get the odd compliment but I can honestly say (for me), the benefit of aging is in my mind set, I’m now happy in my own skin and far more confident than I was , I don’t care what people think of me anymore, which means I can be the real me, which in truth ,is a far nicer person than the person I used to try to be.

I used to stress about getting to the gym everyday, now I just accept the shape I am, it’s not too bad, but it’s not perfect, I’m lucky I have an active job and a dog to walk, which keeps me relatively unflabby, but that’s as far as my cardio goes, and i love my life now more than I ever have.

Love the real you, not the you ,you think others will love.

Yup. I always knew I'd get old but how fast it's happened has been a bit of a surprise. I'm spreading, creaking and my body aches in the mornings. I can't stay on my knees too long and I can't drink like I used to.

If I could turn the clock back I would. But low fat cheese, not a chance.

Redditch

Further signs onlf this 46 year old's increasing decrepitness became apparent on Saturday - need new reading glasses, as my eyes have got worse in the last 18 months and, although a lot of my hair is grey (and has been for years) my bloody eyebrows are now going grey!

Apart from the physical, I've found I need far less sleep than I ever used to. 4-5 hours is pretty standard for me these days.

I can still outperform younger sorts

"Oh my your still a youngster, you shouldn’t be worrying about things like that !

I’m nearly 49, I’ve never thought about getting old.... yes I might look in the mirror now and go ‘ooops more wrinkles and the grey starting to creep through’ but you are only old as you feel or if you let your mind think you are.

I’m still in my early 30s in my mind"

And body, looking at you pics!!
