Actually on a serious note most cloths banks and charity shops will take anything.
Anything that isn't in a good condition or suitable to sell gets sold the rag man. They don't get much for it but it's far better than landfill. |

"I've lost quite a bit of weight, and I have some pricey and still in very good nick sports bras that no longer fit.
I am fastidious about my gym hygiene. "
Give them a wash and your local cloths bank or womans refuge would gladly take them. |

"Underwear and socks probably."
I did a clear out about a month ago, intended to go to a women's rescue. When I called to ask this question they said they accepted all underwear as long as it was clean and in good condition.
There were only my kids' underwear - I've never handed down my own underwear though!!

"Knickers surely..... "
I have a friend who still helps at the woman's refuge she used when she left her husband. She said when a woman has to run, she often runs with the clothes on her back and her children. She says good condition laundered underwear is welcome to a woman who has absolutely nothing |

I can't remember where is was but I saw a news article recently about a charity that sent clean, good condition underwear to women as it made it less likely for them to be sexualy assaulted. |

They take anything, even underwear, as long as clean and in good condition. My mum works for a homeless charity shop and they often give the socks and underwear to the homeless as it’s things that people don’t tend to think about, so when they do get sent in someone can benefit from them.
That which isn’t any good goes in rag bags and they get money that way xx |

Having volunteered in charity shops, I know for a fact that some take ANY fabric in any condition.
Clean is greatly appreciated, and if you know some things are ripped/stained, etc, it's also helpful if you separate the resellable from the not.
Call ahead to make sure the shop does take all fabric; some charities might not.
Also noteworthy that many if not most shops do not have cleaning facilities, so even good quality things might be recycled if not clean. |

"I'd always wash before donating. I have some shame "
I have bought many an item from charity shops, and still do. Occasionally I find that I don't really wear them as much as expected, so I pop them in the washing machine and take them back. It seems like the decent thing to do, I've had shirts in ma wardrobe that I've probably only worn about twice in 5 years |

Take a look at the local newspaper on its website (Countypress) & put bra into the search bar, article in September about collecting 1,100 of them, that is a lot of backaches saved. |
