Unsolicited Friend Requests....why send them?

Has anything positive ever come from an unsolicited friend request? Have you ever received one and thought yesss i’ll get involved here?
Do you send unsolicited friend requests? You’ve never messaged the person to introduce yourself properly but friend requested anyway.
Is it annoying? Attention appreciated?

We don't get them since moving all our friends pics to private.
problem solved
before that though we'd do what many others do, wait till they are offline, accept, have a nose then delete unless they looked genuine, but they rarely are..

I do this too! I wait until they're offline though.
If they only have public pics on their profile I assume they do it just because they want to see my private gallery without going to the effort of starting a conversation first. Which means instant block, obviously. |
