A forum search of the word "Documentary" will bring up details should anyone wish to block the profile in question.Am assuming the profile is allowed as no rules are being broken.

She has one veri from Club, the club has done this kind of documentary before so why can't the promote themselves without involving fab. We're not allowed to name profiles on here as we get blocked by fab, crazy eh. |

We saw the profile and blocked it already but we're also planning to hide our profile for a few weeks after the documentary airs, just in case it raises a bit too much interest about the lifestyle and means a lot of people decide to just have a nose about.
We're not that bothered by being on here and seen by people we know in general as mostly if they're here then they're looking for the same stuff, but the thought of possibly having a lot of family/friends/neighbours all come on to take a look at the same time and gossip is a bit much.
Obviously depending on the content of the documentary we may un-hide sooner but we'd rather be safe than sorry. |

It's easy to find the profile. Type documentary in search of the forums. Theres a thread with no posts, and the OP outlines their intentions on their profile text. Nothing particularly sinister. |

For news purposes it's different, for a commercially made show they'd need to obtain permission from the copyright holder. |

It seems the profile pic on their original post is still shown along with their name!!!! Normally it is a shadow with user not on site so this is unusual. No post from site either. What are your rules site admin. Would say it was all a bit strange. |

That might be the case regarding criminal law - however copyright law is a civil matter and not in the polices remit. A commercial entity i.e. the production company is not permitted to display photos without express permission of the copyright holder.

good point! I think some feel they own part of this site when in reality they have given themselves to this public and free space and have no control over what they post. Once it's out there it's public innit!

Blocked even though I’d only be filmed as the single bloke getting turned away at the door and then shamefacedly having to explain to the camera the reason why......or, I could be the person lurking around in the car park and when the camera crew comes looks shocked and runs away.....or, I could be an offended passer-by who’d been approached for shenanigans by several people in the past hour. |

I’ve blocked too and I’m incredibly surprised that Liberty Elite have got involved in an ‘invite only’ party
It won’t do their reputation any favours that they have opened their doors for public viewing in a channel 4 documentary......
It’s one of only a few clubs across the country that is highly regarded (at present)
I also think admin should have made it clear in a header post that a profile had been set up for purposes of research!! |

A forum mod has already answered. Admin have said they are allowed on the site. They won't be able to contact people in mail. If anyone is interested they need to contact the profile. It isn't compulsory to contact them.
I suppose it is better them being upfront rather than a reporter pretending to be a member to dish some dirt. |

They messaged us. Its not a hidden profile, it clearly says what it is.

We dont think they should be allowed a profile on here since nothing stops them using peoples photos, not even your little pasted legal section. So yeah, don't add them as a friend.

That is the case in the US but not in the UK as such
Only the person who TOOK the photo can sue them, rather than the subject. Your covered if it's a selfie.
I feel like because my privacy settings say I'm not visible to non members I have shown clear intent to restrict viewing.
I'm not sure how this was impacted by gdpr though |

We are fully aware of this documentary and it’s attempting to ensure the lifestyle is portrayed in a positive light. Unfortunately it’s still frowned upon in many peoples eyes when in reality it’s something that we would love to be able to not be shamed for being involved in.
People with years of experience in the scene who go to clubs and meet other know really how refreshing being in an open swing relationship can be. |

I agree with this, and it is... I’ve never seen a positive documentary though. All have an underlying tone of making us look like silly.

The taker can sue for loss of revenue as a professional photographer/artist it’s nothing to do with whether it’s a selfie it’s intellectual property protections.
You would have to make a case showing intellectual property exists and calculate losses
Gdpr covers data controllers and processors not your sexy photos
If you chose to put your private pictures on someone else’s computers that are connected to the internet, expect that people will see and use them

I tell you what though, and a little unrelated really, my Twitter is quite obvious I’m a swinger with the clubs and businesses and people I follow and interact with. The amount of men I get inboxing me questions about ‘what do you like, where can I do x,Y,Z, how can I get an FFM’ and more.

I think that will depend on how swinging is portrayed. I've yet to see any main stream "documentary" or drama that shows swinging as anything other than a relationship wrecker and a "bad thing". |
