Welcome to the first Xciting Encounters social. Hopefully, the first of many.
Our venue is a bar, close to town centre that serves beer, wine, cocktails and bar snacks, with plenty of local parking.
This is a social meet up, in a vanilla bar, open to the general public, on a Sunday afternoon, so please dress accordingly.
Numbers may be limited due to the bar limits but we aim to have a good mix of people, men, women and couples.
If you're interested or would like any more details please use the "contact us" email button on the webpage, details of the social page on my profile.
The full address of the bar will released to everyone the day before. We ask you not to share these for obvious reasons.
Looking forward to a great afternoon and making lots of new friends.

Afternoon all.
Couple of technical challenges with the social Web page, if you've already put you name down can I kindly ask you to revisit the page and register your interest again please. Use the option on the right side of the page and use your Fab name so I know who's who.

The bar is very busy on the Saturday, they have their own events on, so not ideal for a social. |

What people do after the bar closes is up to them. If people want to carry on there's other places we can go.
Not sure I'd want to go as far as Reading though, ideally find somewhere else nearby.
Entirely up to everyone on the day though.  |

I've re-registered
But as I've used my phone to register, FYI it's not the right hand side it's the boxes at the bottom of the page that needs completing

Wait, what... You can get the Internet on your phone? 
Just checked, message received, you're on the list.
And quite right about the contact box being at the bottom of the screen on a phone.
I do so much work on a PC, I just default to what I view. I'm definitely too old for all this new phone technology malarkey. |

I've had a couple of questions about the social, I'll answer them here.
Can you tell me who's on the list and how many people are coming?
First part, I'm afraid not. Second part, I can't guarantee numbers as people could pull out between now and Sunday and others may add their names. I won't know numbers for sure until we're all in the bar.
Can I get a verification?
Yes. Assuming you turn up, look like your pictures, of course. I appreciate new members getting verified can be tough, group socials are often touted as a good way to get verified, my first veris were through a social, seems right to pay that back.
When will you share the location?
I'm aiming for Saturday morning, so check your inboxes.

Someone attempted to start a Basingstoke social last year but it didn't last very long. My partner went once. She said that the choice of venue wasn't great and that they were too exclusive about who could go. We find that the best socials are the ones where they publish the place and time and then anyone can turn up like Hampshire's Most Wanted or Amateur Jenga Society. We are busy this Sunday but will keep an eye out for future ones! |

Also to add... my partner mentioned it to her girlfriends and one said "I hate the secrecy and that you have to register on a page outside of fab. Like just say the time and place already, it's not like is a collective of MI6 agents". They are also a bit concerned that the pictures used on the website and Instagram have been taken from other sites or are AI.
Could you explain what the situation is?

A little disappointing to have my feedback/questions ignored - and I don't know if the OP has single guys blocked, or just blocked me???
Hope this goes well and there are more than the four of you on this thread, it would be great to have some more local meet ups!!!

Just mailed out the relevant info, I know there's a couple of people who haven't checked their messages yet, the guestlist is still open for those people until around 10pm tonight.
After that the guestlist is closed.

Glad it was a success - how many people (roughly) got out for it???
Any idea if this will become a regular thing???
