UpTheBrum is back! And this time it’s on a Friday!
For those new to UtB events, they run purely social events in bars and pubs in Birmingham on a roughly quarterly basis. UtB pride themselves on ensuring a safe, private and welcoming environment for all guests.
With optional speed dating to help you get to know other attendees, this is a perfect social for newbies.
You get the whole evening to make new friends and catch up with existing ones, and see what you want to arrange for later!

I've signed up and been accepted. Nervous as a single bloke and it being my first event. No idea how Welcome single guys actually are and how one gets chatting to people so I'm not a billy no mates in the corner but we shall see.
What is the mix like? I'm guessing the hosts keep the ratios carefully curated etc...
I'm also signed up to the speed dating and intrigued about that too if anyone has anything to tell... |

UTB are great events. Sitting in corners and hiding are not allowed. Everyone is welcomed x |

These are great events. I attended my first one shortly after joining scene last October. I was really nervous but everyone was so nice and welcoming.
Mix of people is always good and it's encouraged to go chat and mingle.

The speed dating is a great start to the event. You’ll be given a few different people to chat to with some helpful icebreaker notes.
You can see the current ratios on the event page. It might look like there’s a higher than expected ratio of single men but there’s also a high proportion of no shows in that category. |
