Seeking female friend in similar situations to myself

I'm a newbie looking to dip my toes in and I'm becoming increasingly aware that the only real way to do so is to go to a club solo, or find a partner to attend with. The idea of going to a club solo is not an attractive one to me!
Are there any ladies out there in a similar situation to myself? I'm not necessarily looking for someone who would like to play with me, perhaps you're just looking for a safe person to attend with who will look out for you, but want to go off and do your own thing. I'm easy on the details - ultimately I'd like an entry point and if we connect on that level, great!

Just a suggestion but lots of people feel like this, could you perhaps organise a social to meet up with new people and then go as a small group? Obviously would need to be a mix of men and women, ladies may feel apprehensive about going to a club with a single male they don't know. |

Nah that's not really something I'd be interested in arranging - thanks for your input though.
For the avoidance of doubt, I'm happy to start talking here and move to a social (etc) before moving on to attending clubs etc.
I thought that would have been implied but I guess not.  |

You just have to try be brave and take the plunge and go it alone if no offers out there to accompany yourself.
Once your foot is in the door you will be at ease. Pick a reputable welcoming club.
