Uniting sentiments...

We live in a time where division is everywhere...

But, are there any unifying sentiments that are broadly agreed on across the board?

I'll start with a possible one...

Our government is shockingly incompetent but the alternatives aren't too much of a better option and we need more viable options to get onto the ballot paper...

What else is there?

Generally we don’t vote for who we want in power but rather we are forced to vote against who we don’t

I do not think anyone is forced to vote.

Maybe its time for us to look how we want to live our lifes in the future?

Radical new ways of living and doing things. How we view the planet and all that live on it.

Divisive politics is only going to exacerbate the problems we have going forward.

The first past the post system creates an unbalanced power in Parliament. Having more realistic representation would give a better outcome as all voters would have more influence. We have extreme partisan behaviour in Parliament rather than cooperation and inclusion.. I actually thought the EU gave us that because not one political group had overall control so everyone had a say. ( not making this about Brexit it’s the structure)

I also think we need a full re set of how Parliament works as it’s a corrupt self serving system.

Accept the 2009 recommendations in the expenses report. Pay them more and keep them on pay for at least two years after losing their seat ( add six months for every four year team served) but no other jobs or consultancies allowed whilst in Parliament or for at least two years after. No cosy lobbying jobs (Cameron) or seats on boards then.

Candidates must live in a constituency for at least five years before they can run for election. No more party yes men and women parachuted in.

Will this happen? .. never while we are scared to vote for something new and keep believing the same old empty promises and crap we are fed.

Central

What's often been too much of a shared pursuit, is the perpetuation of short term interests.

Major issues, like war, should and have had cross party investment. Each term should identify what, if any, issues warrant this. Ut should include global heating just now, due to the pressing need for extreme and urgent action. It should be like war.

You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

That's how we got to where we are today.

For over 40 years, too many people just haven't been able to resist one glittering turd after another.
