Boris is awful at PMQs, waffle, waffle, never answers the questions, but it was good to see the speaker put him in his place

I don't think SKS covered himself in glory, with his "coward" remark at BJ.

The Speaker was constantly warning all parties to show respect.

Are you trying to say BoZo Johnson isn't cowardly?

He's retreated and done so many U turns I've lost count.

What he is or isn't is inconsequential. You can't call someone that in the HoC.

All that means is he can hide behind parliamentary language.

And no his retreats and U turns are not inconsequential.

Oh and by the way, the speaker of house did not object to calling BoZo Johnson a coward.

So it's a perfectly legitimate way to describe him.

You are not allowed to call another MP "a coward" in the HoC.

It is a parliamentary prohibited term.

SKS has since retracted the remark. Not sure if he's apologised though.

As I said the speaker didn't object, although to be fair he did have his hands full trying to get BoZo Johnson to actually answer the questions being asked.

It was nice to see Hoyle actually remember he's supposed to be in charge at the Commons and that the PM is supposed to answer questions at PMQs.

Sounds like the speaker had an eventful day with the again. Good that SKS rose above and withdrew his coward comments. Not sure about these alleged outside earnings, though unless proven then it's just an accusation

SKS doesn’t ask questions anymore as he knows Boris won’t answer. So now he points out how shit Boris is then has a glass of water while Boris waffles for a bit. When the droning stops he knows Boris has stopped talking so gets up to make another point.

I personally liked the way the speaker told Boris to be quiet and sit down but in the bigger picture reality it’s a very sad spectacle and does our Parliament no credit to see such a shambolic circus.

Yep, but like you said , Boris won’t answer the questions (it’s called PMQs) so SKS is doing the right thing, the coward remark was true , but he was right to retract it

Yeah… that was a major shitshow today primarily because of all the leaks and the current issues we knew what starmer was going to ask .. and Johnson was going to not answer any questions or try to turn to deflect

I am glad the speaker finally told the pm off…. It was basically 5 deflection answers and one to get his pre rehearsed zinger off…. Which was lame!!!

"Johnson was told to sit down by the Speaker ,well done MR Speaker."

Never in all the time in PMQ’s seen a PM get the verbal smack down like that.

Tory MP’s must be wondering how they are going to get rid of him before the next election. Because I don’t see him winning a next term at this current time.

sks spoke the truth regarding johnsons personal attributes and had the rules on his side as demonstrated by the speaker allowing the comments to stand. after all, sks was not only entirely correct in his language, he was clearly also entirely justified.

Except he didn't. Following a point of order raised by Michael Fabricant, Speaker Hoyle asked SKS to withdraw the "coward" remark, opon which SKS conceded and withdrew the remark.

He did… the original quote starmer used was that “Johnson was a coward and no leader”… fabricant said that coward was against parliamentry language… speaker said he didn’t hear it because of the noise but if he did say it then he suggested that starmer withdraw it… starmer then say he withdrew the coward but maintained he was no leader….

I think Starmer should have explained what the word coward meant then demonstrated how Johnson was, by definition, a coward. He could have listed the times Johnson has run away rather than face scrutiny. And said he'd love to withdraw the word, but it was sadly accurate for Johnson.
