In overnight strikes the EU Delegation building in Kyiv which also includes British Council offices has been targeted by Russia's ballistic missiles.

On negotiations, Trump has been played, the coalition of the willing going nowhere until a settlement is reached. Putin not stopping and gaining territory.

What next for this conflict ?

The Outer Rim

the decimation of russian oil refining capabilities leading to extreme shortages of petrol and diesel in the russian domestic market, particularly in the east of the country. this will lead to russia desperately trying to sell unrefined crude oil to countries who don't want crude oil.

Maybe Putin will just start mass killing civilians including children at least he can deny it.

It is the new warfare tactic kill who they like and just deny it.

Stourport-On-Severn

Russia announced that that all targets were hit. Just think about that for min.................so Russia is now openly admitting that they ARE targeting civilians deliberately, because most of the TARGETS were civilian.

I imagine that Starmer will send the troops in.

And the EU will stop buying Russian gas.

Or maybe there was a Ukrainian soldier standing near the building who was the target. The rest was unfortunate unintentional damage.

Indeed. Putin and Netanyahu have shown that ignoring the conventions of war brings no particular sanction nor consequences.

Then you should mug-up on the accepted 'rules' of war known as the IHT (International Humanitarian Law).

There is always one that tries to bring in the Israeli war to cause de-railing a subject. 2 completely and utterly different wars so why bring it into this discussion.

Because they may be Unclesomething or other. No wait a minute I think its another relative im looking for, Nan, Sister, no think its Auntie.

They never mention other terrible things committed by say the Chinese, or Syrians, the Saudis, its always those of a certain religious persuasion. Yet each of those countries I've mention have committed atrocities to millions of others, far exceeding the figures killed in the war they keep trying to deflect this issue, of Russia, to. Strange that...

Fair enough, but then what to do with POWs? Shoot them? What about bombing hospitals, refugee camps, journalist hotels? With no rules to conventional war, antagonists might just as well go nuclear from day 1.

Waffling whataboutism. There is a clear connection between Russia and Israel in current conflicts. They both trample over conventions of warfare, and are getting away with it (so far). That's the point. Sadly, this will determine behaviour in future conflicts, making it even more gruesome for civilians, medics, journalists and even the combatants themselves.

This is how Russia engages in war. Population centres are fair game. If our military was even a shadow of its former self it would also do the same.

Yes it is. They dropped barrel bombs on unprotected hospitals, schools and homes in Syria and are using the same playbook in Ukraine. But pause to think - is this what we want if our kids or grandkids should they ever get involved in a conflict?

NATO has well documented Rules of Engagement which are scrupulously adhered to in a conflict. Do mistakes happen? Of course - it's war. But wilfully and cynically bombing civilians, hospitals, food queues, journalists is something new.
