"What have Reform Council's achieved in their 1st 100 days? Pleased?
Does decorating roundabouts and pedestrian crossings count ?"
They've managed to waste some budget . Including having to have reelections, including the guy who resigned after a few days, as he'd not understood what would be involved. It's tens of thousands for each election |

They have managed to make a huge mess at Leicestershire county council… and Durham county council
I know in County Durham.. people are not happy at all to put it mildly |

As they are leading in the opinion polls by a substantial margin, that is probably all we need to know. To achieve this lead in such a short space of time is an incredible achievement. Great to see a party that considers the needs of the electorate leading by such a margin |

What they fail to get done, over several years, could also be to their cost. Do you know their council achievements of the 100 days milestones? |

The considered the needs of the electorate in Derbyshire they closed 7 adult learning centres without consulting the very electorate who use to use them..
Complete bs to say they are considerate |

In Derbyshire, they have closed around 8 education centres. Based in some of the most deprived and educationally underachieving areas of the county. Without consultation.
In Nottinghamshire, they have refused to deal with Nottinghamshire Live news service, which includes BBC local news reporters. |

Overall funding was reduced by 19% to £4.1 million. The cost of running the centres varies from 0.5 million to 1.5 million. At least the council has taken action in light of the reduced budget. What else could they do ? |

To be fair to Reform she'd only been dead for almost a year !

You couldn't make it up
A supporter above sounds proud that they've shut support services, to save money
No mention of their plans and solid contributions to well-being. A dress rehearsal for government? |

Sorry, but why should they have to deal with Nottinghamshire live, bbc or any reporter for that matter (and I'd say the same for any member of any party here, no one should be forced to deal with intrusive and hostile media).
I remember a reporter from Nottinghamshire live when my friend was killed at work.
Marching into our office asking for statements, we politely declined, citing that we didn't feel it appropriate due to the fact the girls parents had yet to make any statement. A couple who had lost both of their children in the space of a year.
I was sat comforting two small crying girls and he spat out "well you might as well because we will get a statement from someone" in the most venomous tone.
When I took the younger girls out for a ride along the trent a few days later to get their minds off it all, we were followed by grown men in blacked out cars (not sure which news outlet those were from) taking pictures of us, I was the eldest at 17. The others were all under 16.
I wouldn't deal with them, and a couple of other media organisations again either! |

Unfortunately dealing with the press is part of the life of a councillor, public accountability and all that.

then there's the recent nottingham councilor james walker-gurley interview which was not so much of a car crash but more of a multiple pile up .... hilarious, but not so funny since his vile social media posts have been exposed... truly disgusting individual 🤮 |

County Durham was particularly laughable as their first was to remove immigrants from the housing waiting list…..And then they found there was a grand total of zero on the waiting list
So there next grand policy was to remove all employees dealing specifically with “woke” positive discrimination and DEI policies….. and that got rid of 1 employee
And that is when the true shitshow started…… they are so out of their depth

From a quick scout around it would appear that Reform are trumpeting savings of circa £100M.
These seem to come mostly from scrapping initiatives like renewing tech and vehicle fleets and cancelling whatever "green" policy they can find.
In Lancashire where I live there has been a lot of hasty, low-quality resurfacing of rural roads that didn't need it. But it's possible this was already in the pipeline from the previous government.
So, it hasn't just been flag-banning. |

Will this lead to higher pollution levels and thus a heavier burden on the NHS? Perhaps without any net savings whatsoever? |

You should try living in Labour Birmingham.
No recycling collected for months.
Still at least Birmingham Labour have solved the climate emergency. Scrap some “Safety Pay” for a few staff and wait for them to go on strike. Then the climate crisis is over and no need to bother with any more recycling.
Not noticed any rebate on my Council tax for the diminished service either. |

In a way Labour have probably accidentally improved the productivity of Birmingham residents as nobody needs to bother with worrying about what goes in which bin any longer as it can all just go in the same place.
The issue I have is that the only service I actually get from Birmingham Council for my £3k a year in Council Tax is waste collection and they can’t even get that right. I imagine I could get a private contractor in to do the same for a fifth of the cost.
Like most public services if it were shut down entirely nobody would notice, aside from the people who work for it.
A bunch of chimpanzees could do a better job. |

But has there ever been a single person other than him in his various parties that you could describe as vaguely competent in some way?

Usually when people say Farage is a skilled politician, they don't mean he's a good civil servant or an effective administrator or a benefit to the country or its citizens. They mean he's good at getting attention and convincing dull-witted people to vote according to their worst instincts. |

To be fair, winning the Brexit referendum was a massive political achievement. Most politicians would be happy to have something of that scale as their only achievement. |

But apart from him in Reform there's no-one that you can be that gushing in praise about. |

True, but if Reform was a traditional party, that would mean giving party members some sort of say, and who in their right mind would want to let the average Reform member near any sort of power?
So you can't really blame him for that. |

You mean like rather than being an actual MP and having the opportunity to ask the actual Home Secretary when she came to the House of Commons about what has happened at Southport, but instead goes on social media, spout conspiracy shit, whilst inciting people, then when it goes tits up he blames other people from giving him dodgy information……
Or like literally the day after the referendum when asked by Suzanne reed on good morning Britain when asked about the 350 million for the nhs “that is not a promise I would have made! “ whilst not distancing himself from it during the campaign
Claims to be the champion of the fisherman, went to 1 of 125 meetings whilst on the EU fisheries committee
So yeh, excuse me for thinking he have that run away thing perfected…. Not like he hated the EU so much when asked if was to not take his EU pension said “why should my family suffer!” |

You could write that as a great influencer, who knows exactly when to step up and when to step back?
I wouldn’t call it “stepping back” … more “running away”… blaming everyone else, running others over in that big old bus
He runs away at a sniff of responsibility and returns like a bad smell to promise shit he'll never deliver."
He seems a thoroughly unpleasant person who you'd never dream of trusting, in any other aspects of your life. |

It's really looking like they've cost us a lot of money, have possibly found some cuts that could end up costing the country more, via the NHS, lost productivity and human suffering . It's not looking good for us |

If you want the latest money saving from reform led County Durham council , the deputy leader said they are “defunding” the town’s pride event.. saying money should go to bin services and repairing potholes…
Like the thinking!!!
One… small… problem
Durham council haven’t funded any part of the “pride” event since 2022
But… flags!!!!!!!!! |

It's like the £billions to be saved on people that they have no care whatsoever for and pay nothing towards. But they'll be grabbing whatever they can for themselves as councillors |

"what are farages top 10 political achievements?
To be fair, winning the Brexit referendum was a massive political achievement. Most politicians would be happy to have something of that scale as their only achievement."
Wasn't really just him though was it? In fact he wasn't even a part of the official leave campaign, he was sidelined in favour of Bozo. |

"What have Reform Council's achieved in their 1st 100 days? Pleased?
We'll if you answer like every Labourite, they inherited an awful situation and are working to put things right. "
How's it going in Staffordshire and the others that they won - what specifically have they achieved so far? |

They're doing great. All the roads around me in my town have recently been resurfaced, instead of the previous idiots just filling in the pot holes, there's talks of our council tax going down next year. |

to be balanced, the whole town and surrounding towns where i live are currently being resurfaced and there no sniff of any reform council. it must be the 8.3 billion that the government made available for the work since june last year. |

They had increased road repairs by 30%, over the previous year, before the election and the milder winters have helped, thank goodness

So when is a stamp duty tax dodge not a tax dodge…..
When you claim you bought a house in your clacton constituency…. And doubled down on that time and time to again, only to find out it was your partner actually bought the house, and then when confronted claim you “misspoke”
Nigel seems to misspeak quite a lot…. He misspoke quite a lot during the Farage riots, misspoke a lot when talking about his bank account woes,
I’ll wait on the reform chorus of controversy at what he did, the sound is just deafening |

I haven’t paid tax on anyone else’s house either.
But with Labour running the country I’m sure it’s just a matter of time. |

Farage told Sky News: “I’ve just exchanged contracts on the house that I’ll be living there in – is that good enough?… I’ve bought a house in Clacton. What more do you want me to do?”.
It turns out this wasn't true, so it's reasonable to question whether other things he says are true or not. |

I'm curious to know more..
Why do you refer to the riots of summer 24 as the Farage riots, what exactly was it he said, that makes you add that label?
His bank account woes? what did he misspeak about, if I remember correctly it fell in his favour, an apology, a pay off and a resignation.
Rayner's stamp duty was compounded by her instance on claiming her main residence was in Manchester. It isn't really the same thing as Farage blowing his own trumpet for effect but actually following the rules. |

I hope he's not showing that his misspeaking is redolent of Biden's and Trump's cognitive decline. If he's not careful, he could open himself to having to pay tax on this Clacton home, as if he owns it in kind, as his own property, in excess of his 1st and other properties. Some might perceive it as hypocritical projection, after him lamenting against Angels Rayner :with his huge wealth and wealthy backers behind Reform Ltd, it'll not be a problem paying up |
