Trump wants the EU and presumably the UK to apply secondary sanctions (tarrifs?) on India and China then he might.

Should we have another round of inflation?

The UK and EU have been applying tariffs on imports forever. It’s not something that’s just started happening since January 2025.

The EU is basically a tawdry little tariff zone with its own flag.

Still, at least Trump has made people aware of all the barriers that exist to international trade, and good that so many Leftists have overnight been converted to being international free marketeers.

Yud be happy with his proposal of 100% tarrifs on China and India.

I wonder who really picks up the bill in the long term, the countries trump imposes tariffs on or the US tax payer?

Has trump raised taxes in the US under the guise of taxing the world with tariffs but the US people are those really paying?

You'll pick up the tab if the UK applies tarrifs on India and china.

Yes and no. The tariff itself will be paid by UK consumers and collected by our government. But exporters to the UK will have to absorb some the cost hike if they want to stay remotely competitive. So it hits everybody.

But I agree with yourself, if you want to tittle tackle please leave my previous response to your previous response so all will know the unedited posts we have post.

I thank you.

It’s not a left right issue….

The reason for the secondary tariffs are the fact that India and china are buying Russian oil, even though it should be sanctioned…

And even then, trump is only actually sanctioning India, but not china … he is.a bit scared of the Chinese and xi, and the fact he knows china dcall his bluffed when the liberation day tariffs went mad and went tariff for tariff

Isn’t the EU the second biggest purchaser of Russian gas?

Maybe we should impose sanctions on the EU.
