The price couldnt go to a better person and well done for the venezuelan opposition leader maria corina to receive it.
She received it because for her tireless work promoting democratic rights for the people of venezuela, not just that, but also for her struggle to achieve a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy.
What do you think of it, do you also agree that she deserves it? I bet that trump isnt happy about it, he might receive it next year, but as I said in the beginning, it couldnt have gone to a better person than her

I would be lying if I said I knew much about her before the Nobel Prize win. But from what I have read about her after that, she seems to be deserving.
It would be interesting what the left wingers think about this though. On one hand, they would be happy that Trump didn't win it. On the other hand, Maria herself is a right winger. |

Interesting, she has done a courageous fight for Venezuela. Almost winning the possibly rigged election. However she is in hiding and nothing changed.
Here is a link to the countries where things have changed and results produced.
I am sure the fab self proclaimed authoritarians on all subject matters will be along soon to show their TDS views.
But at some point actions will speak louder than words, and the TDS crowd will have to start recognizing that after all the nobel peace prize does not amount to much.
After all they gave it to barack before he came to office without solving one conflict. Did not solve any while in office either!
Do not be surprised if President Trump takes on Venezuela next and assists the nobel peace prize winner in getting into the position she won.

Don't forget the other work he did last term, like the Abraham Peace Accords

So why has Machado won the prize and Sviatlana Tsikhanouskaya not? One could reasonably that the latter has been at much greater personal risk and unlike Machado hasn't gone into hiding. And unlike Machado is under a 15 yeae sentence. And unlike Machado hasn't been shat upon by western leaders who refused to recognise her as the legitimate winner of the election, presumably because they don't want to piss off Putin. |
