After his mum asked for the life support machine to be turned off, Ian Huntley has died.
Some will hail his attacker as a hero. Some will condemn the attack.

I wanted him to survive so he could be in pain while he healed..then fear the next attack..then heal and so on..the longer it went on the better..id have shown him as much mercy as he showed them two lovely little bairns |

I have no sympathy for Huntley whatsoever,however we cannot have some other criminal setting themselves as some kind of vigilante hero. He should be charged to the full extent of the law. Finally I do hope this brings even the smallest level of comfort to the families of those poor young girls |

Yeah he's a complete wrong un himself.
Probably did to boost his status in jail rather than actually caring about what Huntley actually did, given that he's a triple murderer and rxxist himself, hardly a paragon of virtue. |

I don't condone any form of vigilantism. (And I have a special dislike of Batman, for example).
My main thought is, "If this place (Prison) is such a place of control, how was it possible to harm another inmate ?
Serious failings by the Prison Service, demonstrating that the place that was supposed to control and contain their inmates failed in their most basic duty. Therefore their institutional existence is not fit for purpose. There should be an ex-Governor at the end of this. |

My main thought is, "If this place (Prison) is such a place of control, how was it possible to harm another inmate ?
Serious failings by the Prison Service, demonstrating that the place that was supposed to control and contain their inmates failed in their most basic duty. Therefore their institutional existence is not fit for purpose. There should be an ex-Governor at the end of this."

Sorry, "their institutional existence is not fit for purpose" was not a "all prisons", as the qualifier stated "an ex-Governor", meaning that specific prison.
I don't mind prisons. Provided they are ran well, and inmates are safe. They are a vital place of work for families and ancillary staff, and a vital place to keep sentenced people at bay from society.

you ibviously have no grasp of prisin or know anyone who has been inside, the places are full of violence and have been for decades especialy the ones where the likes of huntley are banged up, stick a few hundred violent individuals together under one roof if aint gona be sunday school |

I have worked in a well run prison, and there were still incidents. Prison can not control for every eventuality. |
