Another day another revelation about the Green Party Leader “Zack Polanski” (David Paulden).
This time non payment of Council Tax on a houseboat he was living in. Personally I’ve never found it particularly difficult to pay Council Tax.
This to add to other apparently false claims about his past:
His “acting” experience
False claims to be a spokesperson for the British Red Cross
Embellishment of his “therapy” credentials
False claims about working for the Ministry of Justice
I’m sure Polanski’s star will rapidly wane, and his political “career” is just another in a long line of failed attempts to gain some attention and notoriety.
But what does it say about the quality of political life in Britain that people like Polanski can gain traction? Or that a significant part of the population would take such an obvious quack seriously? |

I think what you need to understand, Fabio, is that a £5 million gift from a crypto billionaire that coincides with the recipient deciding to do a complete u-turn on whether to get back into politics is definitely not dodgy in any way, but the council failing to ask for council tax from anyone living in a marina, shows that anyone who failed to pay a bill that they never received simply can’t be trusted. |

He was paying council tax (as part of his rent) but in a different borough, he spent most of his time at his partner’s houseboat though, which was moored in a leisure marina, where council tax usually doesn’t apply. Only one boat there has been registered for council tax, and that was over 15 years ago. |

If you want to see what is wrong with politics in this country then this conversation highlights it. Reform is run by a bunch of grifters and rabble rousers who play fast and loose. The Greens are run by by someone who has, at best, a tentative grip on the truth and also plays fast and loose. Labour and the Tories aren’t mentioned because they have both blown themselves up and the Liberals are just irrelevant.
No one is willing to defend their parties choices and everyone just thinks that muck racking about the other parties (very obvious) inadequacies will take the spotlight away from their (very obvious) inadequacies. |

What makes me laugh is that people like Polanski spend their time trying to convince us all that they’ve got something profound to say about our condition, and they can’t even manage their own very basic finances, something that the rest of us do without a second thought.
The same could be said for people like Haigh (minor mobile phone fraud), Rayner (can’t understand basic tax), anyone in Labour grifting over a few concert tickets or a new suit. These people are just tenth rate no marks. |

That being their long-standing thing doesn't make it right. It's severely detrimental to the country and it leaves us in mercy of other countries. There is no reason why a "green" party must be against Nuclear energy.
In case you didn't know, there have been Environmental NGOs who have been caught being funded by Russia. Making Europe lose its nuclear energy capabilities is well within Russia's interests. They already succeeded doing that with Germany, thanks to Merkel.

Labour received £4,000,000 from Quadrature just before the General Election, a hedge fund heavily invested in arms and Middle East Oil. I'm sure it was a donation given philanthropically with no sinister intent.....the fact it was given in the narrow time window where it wouldn't need to be declared until after the election was sure coincidence....
Similarly, Labour's biggest individual donor was Dale Vince, who's energy company just so happened to be given the contract to supply the GLA with power....
We have threads running where Reform are ridiculed as not being a serious party while simultaneously having threads like this where apparently it's akin to a war crime that anything untoward has potentially happened in Reform and they're given more scrutiny than the government.
All while turning a blind eye to the sleaze and corruption that's infesting the current government. £750k hidden from the Electoral Commission by Labour Together anyone?

It will also drive more people to Reform who may feel good old Nige is getting a rough ride.
For me, the biggest question is why do decent hard working people feel the need to go to Reform and similarly Trump in USA.
Maybe its time for a huge shake up, can we really go on like this for the next 25 years.
I'm no fan of Reform but find the lack of, well everything, from both Labour and Tories too much to stomach.
They've both had huge stints in power and achieved pretty much nothing, just the same old, same old.

The only reason I continue turning up at the company I work for is because they keep paying me at the end of the month. If they stopped doing that and instead gave me £1m, I'd say thank you very much and then go do something else with my time. If they'd given me £5m I wouldn't instead choose to continue working for them just because they've been so nice.
For a gift given in advance with no expectation of a regular payment, the size of the gift is irrelevant. |
