I'm no fan of "Blairism". They pulled away too far from the Left to appeal to Business and the Oligarchs.

.

Business and Oligarchs forget that without human capital, there is no business. No oligarchy.

.

People come first. Always.

Is a socialist Britain the place where more of your income and savings are taken in new forms of taxation and increased taxation and spent for you. Where anyone who has saved or invested for their retirement is deemed to be rich and needs to pay more ?

Apparently, yes it is.

Jeremy Corbyn set up a party to offer that, but almost no one seems to want to vote for it.

It would appear so, very worrying times when the government don't appear to understand how anything works.

What do you not like about neoliberalism, specifically and what is the alternative? The detail not the strapline.

We are probably a more Socialist leaning country than would appear, simply because at General Elections left leaning parties (Labour, Lib Dems, Green, Nationalists etc)between them get more votes, than right leaning parties, it’s just that the votes get split.

Is that's not socialism, then neither Labour, nor anyone further left in this country, will be delivering it.

They’re all essentially very similar.

A liberal Tory is pretty much the same as Blue Labour.

Tax free thresholds already frozen for at least a decade from 2021 to 2031? Thats not a 'global power', thats serfdom. You can't hate the government and the institutions enough as is.

The idea of a totally socialist country is fluff, there will be nobody on here that can describe what that is, because it really doesn't exist in a pure form anywhere.

The closest those who pine for a socialist country could get is North Korea but even they had to allow some informal enterprise or face population collapse through famine.

Race to the bottom

£3trn in debt, half the country on benefits and 40% uk overweight. Record youth unemployment.

Economy globalised for lower costs, taxing everything that moves and still labours got more black holes than only fans.
