I'm not so sure Shag.
Putin is obsessed with his image (same as Trump), an exit strategy would look like defeat in his eyes.
If anything, he's more likely to lash out. |

It is certainly a concern but the alternative is allowing Ukraine to be invaded further, also with unknown long-term consequences. |

He never really started to broker peace, not at the right level of using many of the powers he has at his disposal..
His whole approach seems to have been appearing the aggressor, Putin and until the last couple of weeks trying to strong arm Ukraine and Europe into accepting what Trump feels will suit Putin best and will lead to lots of business for Corporate America..
Europe and ourselves have been right to resist his bullying and coercion.. |

Putin made his intentions very clear from the start of the war with that 3 mile long convoy en route to Kyiv.
It's not gone his way and recently has been playing mind games with NATO with various drones, airplanes and ships because of their support for Ukraine.
Putin plays the long game, but when things don't go his way he turns unpredictable.
With the sanctions now bedding into their economy and recent US support, Putin is cornered.
Would he push the button? I don't think so and Xi has probably told him not to also.
But Putin does not want to lose. |

The world will not let Putin lose this war. A fractured Russia would be bad thing for the world. Likewise Ukraine cannot win this war. Strange comments you may think, but Ukraine know this and as such they need the Russian population to defeat putin from within.
Ukraine has had 4 freezing winters and know how to survive them, if the Russians think it's bad now then they need to think ahead. I know they deal with cold in some regions, but the cities will suffer this coming winter more than usual. |

Always thought Russia's forces and equipment were very old and in bad condition and now its been proved so putin has actually made Russia weaker.
Ukraine will win but it might be once Putin is dead or overthrown... |

Ukraine has taken to bombing the warehouses of Wildberries, which is Russia's version of Amazon. If that carries on there will soon be no toilet paper in Russia, and we all know how much that cripples a nation. |

If Ukraine wants to stop Russia oil why do they still allow Russia to use pipe lines though the Ukraine to move there oil though there country to the black see coast and onto their ships? Living in Bulgaria we get a totally side to the conflict than the BBC give you.
Also we have just got back from the black sea coast and it was pretty much full of Ukrainians on holiday. |

Yes, Russian oil continues to flow through Ukraine to parts of Central Europe via the Druzhba pipeline. The transit supplies landlocked countries like Slovakia and Hungary, bringing millions of tons of crude annually despite ongoing hostilities. |

Allowing for our Ukraine bias, 200 sea vessels hit, SU bomber blown on runway within last week, 45% refineries out of action, mile long queues for fuel independently shown on social media, warehouses bombed
And all within the last few weeks. |

If the world tightened sanctions now rather than finding excuses to ease them then it could accelerate some kind of peace.
I hope the world is looking far enough ahead to think about who will replace Putin. It doesnt just change overnight, and not necessarily for the better. |
