Leaving the EU surely means leaving the EU?

I don't understand all of the chest beating and flag waving about the statements made by Prime Minister yesterday.

If we are leaving the EU, then we should be like Australia, S Africa and the USA with regards to our relationship with Europe and the EU. That means we are a separate country and have no part of any of the EU project.

Why is there some kind of weird expectation that just because we live nearer to Europe than (for example) Australia, S Africa and America that there would be a different relationship. We need to man up and accept that our previous relationship with the EU (being part of it, butnot really part of it) was the best it was ever going to be. If we leave, let's stop expectations of "best possible access to the single market" and "industry specific" arrangements with the customs union. It really is all bollocks and people need to be told the truth.

We leave the EU and our economy is fucked for a decade or more because we are currently so wrapped up in Europe and it will take that long at least just to embark on a new journey. No more bullshit, just let's get out if we are going and let's get OUT, OUT, OUT as the saying goes. Tighten our belts, deal with the big shit and hope that by the time our kids are 10-15 years older, they might be a bit better off at at least the same as they are now.

Regarding your kids future i would put away as much as you can in s child trust fund.I have 2 kids and they were born around the time labour was setting up trust funds (CTF) and giving you a few hundred to start. The future for them will be crazy expensive.
