You'll get responses from more normal people here. Once it gets moved to the Politics forum, the 10 who dwell there will give stock answers....

Although the lib dems are closer to what I agree with, as they only got just over 200 votes in my constituency last time I fear voting for them would be a waste of time.

So I'm voting Labour as they've the best chance of unseating my local Tory

Labour, although I still haven't forgiven them for 1997, so I'll be watching with interest. None of the main parties really fit with my politics though, but I'd rather anyone than the Tories.

Inrerestingly Re: the test of the population; a lot of my work colleagues seem to be saying that they will vote for Labour.

"Still undecided...all of the major parties have policies that I both strongly agree and disagree with. I will vote but I'd prefer a 'none of the above' option

Same though, i'm slowly edging towards labour.

I can forgive the innocence of youth when thinking that voting Labour is a good idea but aren't you old enough to know better?

Yep old enough to remember all of maggies reign and major....Blair....brown....Cameron and now may. Been a Labour supporter all my life and I can never understand people who are not in the top 5% voting tory!

As they are truly the only ones they lookout for!

And old enough to remember Callaghan. How did that government work out? Do you not remember the job losses, the strikes, the inflation, the hospitals closing and nurses losing their jobs etc etc?"

I think you will find that was at a time when the unions had a bigger grip then now!

But all is great now isn't it.....back to Victorian times with soup kitchens and food banks eh

Ah, so it was the unions' fault. I think you will find that Corbyn wants to return those powers to the unions so that they have a bigger grip than now, or don't you realise that?

I want to vote for the Labour Manifesto.... but your talk of pulling up the ladder just reminds me of Corbyn who went to a selective, boarding Grammar School....and Abbott who sends her offspring to private school while saying others shouldn't. It makes decisions hard!

Completely wrong. Tribalism? My parents always voted Labour yet I have always voted Tory so how does that work? I vote Tory to help people. Under Labour governments unemployment ALWAYS rises (well, apart from the one just after the war, but that was because of all the rebuilding needed) and people always end up poorer. Another poster mentioned food banks but they were introduced under the last Labour government. So were zero hours contracts. The last Labour government's open door immigration policy also had a negative effect on society and on the lowest paid workers. If you want people to suffer and be kept down 'in their place' then vote Labour

He supported human rights against Chile and his ex wife was part of my community. that was due to part of the tory manifesto which never came about. looks like tories gonna lose about 2 million votes"

Tories will gain a large chunk of the 4 million who voted ukip in 2015.

I've voted ukip at pretty much every election going for around the last 10 years. It was all about bringing about Brexit with ukip. Not voting ukip this time though, now its got to be Conservative to deliver the Brexit we voted for in the EU referendum. Tribalism has nothing to do with it for me, this is the Brexit general election.

up to a point i would have agreed with you... my starting point was always "could i see myself ever voting for corbyn?" and the answer at the beginning was no.....but a few things for me have changed...

1) I do like the labour manifesto... and I think it shows their are enough people in high positions that the far left of the party can be checked..... plus some of the bigger hitting moderates would have to be brought back into high positions....

I think if it was left to corbyn it would go a lot further left than it did...

2) i can't believe i am going to say this, McDonnell doesn't scare me as a potential chancellor.... i don't think any of the stuff he has proposed is too outlandish (45p at 85K, 50p at 150K)

think about the U turns hammond has had to make..... he is beholdened to a tax slashing part of his party.....

3) yes, abbott is the one that does worry me..... but if corbyn was smart, thats where i would see if someone like yvette cooper would come back into government.....

Cameron and Osborne have already gone, no prospect of them becoming an MP so they are irrelevant to this election. There is also no prospect of Michael Gove getting a position in the cabinet should the tories win the election. Bojo is one of the most well liked and popular politicians in the country so not sure why you included him in the list?

We will have to wait and see on that one.

Where I disagree with you is on this being all about brexit... there is a lot more going on here then just brexit as in the NHS, in work benefits cuts, policing cuts....but it's all not bad as there will be further tax cuts for the few.

We have a recession every 7 years, give or take, who is in power is irrelevent. Generally it is a major one, mini one, major, mini, and so on. Basically we are due a mini one in the next 3-4 years, 5 at a push. Its hiw we handle each recession that is important.

Note that here in Scotland the British media are trying to debate devolved issues in a UK election.

So the British media are not allowing the Scottish people to hear what SNP mp's would do in Westminster they are trying to make it all about devolved issues that is fuck all to do with an UK election.

Enough said.

up to a point i would have agreed with you... my starting point was always "could i see myself ever voting for corbyn?" and the answer at the beginning was no.....but a few things for me have changed...

Mate I have to admit I'm really warming to you

Also I agree with Diane Abbott being the only fly in the ointment at the moment and I would hope she is replace asap.

I get sick about hearing of the labour party in the past.....most quoting from history books as they are too young to have been there at the time. Times and people can change.

I don't need history books for the 70's. I was there.

Times and people do change. Quite often for the worse."

Quite right. Corbyn isn't half the man or politician that Callaghan was and look how well that ended. And I remember it well

You mean it had to be put right for a decade and a half and then people got complacent and bored and forgetful and inexperienced and thought hey, lets try Labour again for a change. And guess what? They fucked things up again

My parents worked for the nhs during the Thatcher period. They saw privatisation of the health service. All the great British doctors went to private. The instruments paid by the NHS went to private hospital. Talk about using tax money to finances the rich. Donors were sold privately before going to the waiting list.

Sounded horrendous.

A 'NONE' vote. Making it absolutely clear on my paper.. and so it cannot be misinterpreted as a 'voter undecided' ballot.

Unlike thousands of others, who do not even know how to spoil their vote properly. (Google it!!)

As they are truly the only ones they lookout for!"

And it's that inability of Corbyn's Labour to truly understand people and their motives for voting the way they do which is why, in mid term election which Labour should have walked, they're struggling to even hold onto the seats they currently have.

I'm voting LibDem this time.

Actually they're not crap but you have to understand them properly. Most poles have a margin of error of 4 percentage points. What this means is that, while the pols suggested remain would win by about 51% to leaves 49% what that actually meant is that remain would get between 47% and 55% and leave would get between 45% and 53%. The actual result was remain 48% and leave 52%, which is within the 4 percentage range.

Currently, in the best pole from labours point of view, they are still 6 percentage points behind and still heading for a big loss. Things may move in their favour more over the next 9 days but u till that gap gets to less than 4 points they're still definitely heading for a loss.
