Is Theresa May your bae? Are you a fan of A Very Naughty Boy Jeremy? Or do you howl in protest and vote for none of the above?

Did you swallow Nige's lies and vote to leave? Or did you consider the pros and cons, realise we were better off remaining and back Honest Dave?

Trump can be discussed also.

I suppose my allegiance is too society that creates wealth but implements a social structure that provides a safety net for those who need it by effectively reducing the disparity between rich and the poor and eliminating disproportionate oppertunity .....

I'm certainly not a socialist , but I value the construct of social responsibility .....

So if you find my opinion offensive ...... tough luck hombre ....

We're fucked by the party in red if they're in.

We're fucked by the party in blue if they're in.

I've no doubt we'd be fucked by the party of any other colour if they're in.

In short, we're fucked by all politics and it's politicians. It's just a matter of how big the dick is that's going to be fucking us.

I don't see why people are so down on politics as it effects our lives in so many ways, I just think some people would rather have a quiet life as opposed to standing up and being passionate about something...

What about the deep state, where the government du jour is just a cover?

I expect government to provide a framework that is restrictive of potential damage to, as well as congruent to the wellbeing of all, including the provision of support where necessary. And this should also include our environment. I'm not fixed to one party and like representatives across the spectrum but not Farrage or Trump at any cost

Classical liberalism is in its most basic form grown up and the original form of libertarianism.

It acknowledges that effective and correct levels of tax and beuracracy must be upheld by the state, and infastructure should be put in place by the state. But it is also in favour of the free market internally and externally. E.g, the government shouldn't provide a service if the market can effectively provide it - health care and transport are contentious issues here.

In addition classical liberalism puts forward individual freedoms and liberties the most, eg freedom to practice a faith, but also to be free from faith if you choose, but values societal cohesion.

In the last 2-3 years classicsl liberalism has resurged, but many are more to the left of this political specrum in the sense that they are pro-socialised healthcare and welfare programmes.

All in all its an interesting ideology to resurge in this day and age.

An emerging form of retardism in the form of oversensitivity and the stoking of two unnecessary and damaging divisions - men vs. women with feminism and black vs. white with BLM.

These both impinge on actual equality and distract from real issues like growing economic disparity.

Thanks for that - I align with a lot of that with an added anti-war, pro free market capitalism twist (original Adam Smith style without cronyism). I don't really care how healthcare and transport are denominated so long as they are functional for all.

I'm against a welfare state that is gamed by the smart but lazy and absolutely in favour of stronger protections for the truly weak.

What are your views?

Not the best example given that 400 years ago us Europeans were busy slaughtering native Americans. I would imagine they weren't too happy about that...

I doubt it, 400 years ago they were slaughtering Europeans, although they had a sense of humour as well, they often used to just hide in the woods and jump out on them and shout boo!

Oh, yeah. I'm sure they were having a wonderful time whilst having their land taken away from them. What jolly lives they had.

I don't think you know what words mean.

But please, tell us more about how your vaguely upset about the unprecedented wealth, health, and opportunity you have by virtue of being born now, and how the state is terrible.

I'm certain it'll be fascinating.

They weren't 400 years ago, that's why I picked that date, they were absolutely battering the Europeans

You are just trolling now.

The most unconstructive critic here... Everything you don't is a "load of balls", "a bunch of tools" blah blah without even giving a good reason... You barely have an opinion and when pressed on anything you run away or try to distract when your weak arguments are exposed

I'd love to invert your own argument against you here. In the political correctness thread you acted as if women are living in the dark ages and that society is at fault for everything

"I think I've been all sides of the political spectrum.

There all shit, I'm now more aligning to anarchist

I guess some people never grow out of their useless teenage nihilism phase."

Which shows you have no idea what anarchism means (in any of its myriad forms).

I lean more towards Anarchism these days, because I like the idea of the redistribution of wealth and collectivism, but dislike large state machinery.

At that time they won some battles and lost others, and certainly did lose territory. The details of the Powhatan Wars are pretty clear.

That's correct, I don't even believe in the concept of wealth equality anymore but I do believe that the wealthy are overly protected from redistribution by the system they implement via cronie capitalism.

I am of the belief these days that the best method to provide a level playing field is anarchism .

I can't argue with the other guy as I always end up on the naughty step for no apparent reason

National Socialism seems quite appealing. And Fascism Musollini style. Or even go back to the days of principalities. Get an emporer like Napoleon in. That would be good.

If anyone is interested in working out their politics you can take a quiz at,

https://www.politicalcompass.org/

Personally, I think some of the questions and the way the quiz is set up isn't very well thought out but it is interesting to see where you are on a graph.

Economicall -1.13

Libertarian -0.67

Virtually at the crossroads But I agree, some of the questions ate poorly constructed and a simple agree/ disagree is insufficient.
