The photos from this March are quite funny.

Farage nowhere in sight. Hardly the epic march that Richard Tice promised.

Are people tired of his bullshit by now maybe?

Just googled March to Leave and someone possibly political has tweeted a picture of the March and someone's responded...

"

Wow, there must be literally tens of people there!"

Made me laugh

I correct myself here. Farage did show up.

I guess there won't be any need for estimates about how many hundreds of thousands did or did not turn up. You can count them individually.

It is amusing that Farage is not actually walking the whole way. He's just there for the photo shoots.

Well let's look at the facts:

1. 17.4m vote leave

2. 350 register

3. 100 turn up to the March

4. 50 sign up for the full March

5. Nigel Farage is not doing the whole way -just the photo shoot bits!

That's a great result! Anyone notice the trend?

They are due to cross the Middlesborough Transporter bridge today.

Which is closed on a Sunday.

Good luck.

Best response I saw on this?

But... I bet if they just believe really hard then it will be OK. It's probably the EUs fault it's not running today anyway.

Has anyone looked at the march?

Seems there are about 50 of them and it is such a 'fuck up' that they proudly marched to the Tees Transporter Bridge intending to use it to cross the River Tees only to find it is shut on Sunday.

The march will be stopping at the Bass brewery in Burton soon...

The remain match was hundreds of thousands of people who arranged the event with the necessary authorities with disruption to traffic an unintentional

consequence.

Lorries blocking traffic are doing nothing but deliberately disrupting people's daily lives. It's a small number of people trying to cause maximum inconvenience to get attention.

Not double standards at all.

Heroic interpretation though.

The reason no one on the leave side has said they'd write such a letter is because there won't be any shortage of medicines in a no deal scenario. To suggest there is, is just more remoaner scaremongering and an attempt to revive project fear from its tomb.

Surely it must be clear that people are not convinced that we should leave? 3 years ago we were lied to by Leave and people fell for it. In years to come, very few people will admit they actually voted for Brexit. I only know of 2 people who’ve admitted it in an age range of 18-90.

"Surely it must be clear that people are not convinced that we should leave? 3 years ago we were lied to by Leave and people fell for it. In years to come, very few people will admit they actually voted for Brexit. I only know of 2 people who’ve admitted it in an age range of 18-90."

And how many people in that age range do you know ? I voted to remain but I respect democracy. I knew what I was voting for, I’ll never desrespect people and say their vote was wrong. Hindsight is a wonderfull thing. I’m a gambler, if I knew Brexit would definitely fail I’d invest money in that belief. Unfortunately I’m like most people on here, I can’t see into the future, we’re all experts behind a keyboard.

Just saying. That's what they said. Not me.

I presume that at some point the march will have to split up as none of the leavers will accept any other leavers route to their destination.

Well, after having the piss taken out of them for the fact that they were only going to be walking about 60% of the actual distance and going to be bussed the rest.... they have now removed the maps of their route each day from their website. That is if they even make that.

So rather than be open and honest with the task at hand, they are hiding the inconvenient truth so they don't have to own up to it?

I'm really starting to believe that this entire thing was some elaborate hoax just to see how many parodies of brexit and the leave campaign they could possibly fit into two weeks.

Has anyone seen a *single* black person or ethnic minority in this march yet? I just watched a video of a few dozen of them walking single file past the camera (nice trick to make it look bigger!) and the nickname 'gammonball run' really is apt.

So, as not all leaver voters are racists and xenophobes, any idea why the march is so badly our of sync with the cultural and ethnic make up of the country as a whole?

Keep banging the same old drum leavers are "racist, xenophobes" and if you repeat it enough some people might believe you.You talk about the right wing being racist and enticing problems it seems to me you are trying to do exactly same thing.Sometimes you need to look in the mirror to spot the problem.

No. I said as they are NOT all racist xenophobes. Read more carefully and don’t just try to take offence at what is playing on your mind.

But besides your attempt at mock outrage and diversion away from answering the actual question.... any idea why the make up of the gammonball run doesn’t reflect the U.K.?

That's what I mean by getting defensive.

No-one that I'm aware of has pointed the finger at you.

Only the more unsavoury elements.

The kind of thug who goes up to an ethnic minority on a bus and demands they "go home cos we got our country back" etc.

That's nothing to do with you.

Yet you seem to take it personally.

It's not hard to condemn racist abuse.

PS. The only reason you could buy a place in spain in the first place was our membership of the EU. Before that you could get a visitor visa and go for two weeks like everyone else, but you couldn't live or work there. So consequently i expect that you will actually be very pleased when spain tells you that you no longer have any right of residency.

Actually you are so wrong the spanish people are lovely and welcoming and have no problem with leavers. I think you will find its only the uk remainers are the only ones who actually have a problem. When you talk to the spanish they are just as pissed off with the eu bureaucrats as i am.I was hoping we would get a deal as it would have saved me a bit on tax when it sells but heyho its only money.

And before you say that there is an arrangement that you will still be able to own property there and visit whenever you want, under the "no deal" that you want so much, everything is off the table, there are no extant rules. That is the definition of what "no deal" means.

Yes, of course, pooling resources to avoid duplication, and bring alignment of trade, business, etc is clearly a silly idea.

A good example of that announced yesterday

rescEU

A pan-European network of resources that every state can call upon in a natural disaster.

Also capable of responding to chemical, biological, nuclear and radiological events.

Instead of 27 + 4 states each having to spend money on their national response, they pool resources into a much more cost-effective Europe-wide arrangement.

They get the capability for a fraction of the cost.

and that's where a cooperation within a framework of a EU defence force could improve capabilities and reduce costs in one go, instead of being America's poodle.

Yeah... erm... few things you might want to know about those "targets"....

1) the "2% GDP" target for spend was due to come in in 2025....

2) the UK and Poland aren't the only EU countries to hit that target... Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania also do (which is why every time trump cosys up to putin, and even mention the idea of pulling out of NATO, the freak a little)

3)..... and heres one that will crush you a little.... the UK only hit the "2% GDP" target because they are allowed to include spending on armed forces pensions in said figures... (you can all it an accounting quirk if you like... i'll let ya!)

there has to be a 30/40-1 chance we will spot him on some local tv..... or the national tv when they compare the amount of people on the march in london, with the amount on the gammonball run....

do you reckon they will do one of those "side by side" split screen shots......

"There are 100 core marchers who’ve been to every location along the way with another hundred or so daytrippers joining just for the day. Most of the people here are middle-aged and older. They wear sensible walking shoes and wave Union Jack flags. The original bits of the march were almost 20 miles long, their press liaison person tells me, “but we made it shorter due to the age of the marchers”. "

West London

THE ‘March to Leave’ has somehow found itself back in Sunderland again, feeling even more confused than usual and with no one really leading.

The march – which is currently populated by a handful of oddballs and the spirit of Nigel Farage who is busy on TV – arrived back in the Northern town expecting it to be London.

Brexiter Martin Bishop said: “I think London is around here somewhere. Is that London? Oh, no, it’s the Stadium of Light.

“This is definitely not London. London is full of massive buildings, famous landmarks and the metropolitan elite. As the sort of person who voted for Brexit I notice these things.

“We must have taken a wrong turn at Doncaster. Now I’m completely knackered and my feet really hurt. I’m taking these flip flops back to the shop.”

Fellow marcher Emma Bradford said: “Why didn’t any of us bring a map? It’s almost like we embarked on this enormous endeavour without having a fucking clue what we were doing.”
