Was up Blackford Hill at the weekend for a walk. Great scenery and quiet. Is this a destination in normal times ?

For walks? Yes, why wouldn't it be?

Edinburgh

Absolutely, it's a very popular destination. Great for running and walking with fine views over the city and forth to the north and the Pentlands to the south. In the autumn brambles are plentiful on the slopes so get there early and there's good foraging if you want to make some jam.

Never been into the observatory but I understand they do public educational events fairly regularly so worth keeping an eye on when lockdown eases up.
