To stir the pot with this one a bit.

I recently watched a video where a chef put over a point that we've been making this wrong for years, and that it should actually be toast that we dip in the egg mix before frying it.

Personally I'd love to try making it with proper Texas Toast.

Yup always toast the bread first stops it going too soggy and don’t over soak it either and go easy on the milk

Instead of the syrup try warming up aromatico tomatoes in the pan you've cooked the bacon in (make sure its a good quality smoked streaky bacon). You can thank me later.

I had it the other night, despite planing to, since this thread started.

I messed it up. I normally do it dry-fried, but accidentally put oil in the pan this time, and it came out soggy.

Here and there

Bacon n cheese in between the slices like a sandwich, stick it back in the frying pan and fry until the cheese melts.. and then a bit of brown sauce to top it off.

Or try this one, bacon n maple syrup but spread the slices with the squeezy drizzler peanut butter

Depends what I'm having it with. If it's on its own, wee bit of salt.

If it's with like bacon and eggs, DROWN the thing in maple syrup and enjoy knocking a couple of years off your life

Take two slices of bread, sweet pie filling and spread it on. Sandwich them together and dip in the egg then fry on both sides. Did this at a Guide camp. You can dust with icing sugar.

Or Nutella on top is amazing as well.
