whilst currently nursing this hangover i was wondering "d*unk as a skunk" where does that phrase come from? lol do skunks get d*unk............. more to the point am i still d*unk lol

most sources agree that the term arose simply because of its rhyme.
Before it's usage in the english language there were several other "d*unk as" terms being used. D*unk as a lord was the immediate predessor to d*unk as a skunk.

is it no something to do with the smell skunks give off , i believe it is ment to have an intoxicating effect on their would be attackers , usualky randy male skunks !! The spray leaves them stoating about as if pissed
