does anyone know of any company's taking on staff or agencies, i got paid off last week, and before some smart alec comes along and says search job center website.... already done so, thanks for your help if you know of anything

Ya poor soul. Losing any job can be traumatic especially in this climate. Not being from your area I wouldn't know, but keep your eye on Gumtree, as well as the various employment agencies & online searches. Don't get disheartened & keep sending off a well written CV to anything that matches your skillset.
