Does anyone have recommendations for a decent city break

I’m looking to book a couple of city breaks for the beginning of next year. I’ve done the usual Prague, krakow, London, Amsterdam etc but looking for something a bit different.

In the west.

Any of the cities in Andalusia. Malaga and Sevilla are easy to get to and rhe others are easily accessible by train.

Done Paris and Rome. Both were great. Heard Barcelona is meant to be good too

Depends what you enjoy in a city. I've done quite a bit across Europe.

Bruges was nice (nicer than Brussels imo).

Sofia (bulgaria) also nice, but dodgy. Whereas Varna is a nicer beach-side getaway.

Salzburg also good, but an hour out is Zell-am-See for a quiet picturesque winter getaway.

Venice in winter is better, as it's off-season- less smelly and less crowded

Otherwise I often default to Milan - always a win for me!

If you don't mind driving, the coastal villages between Naples and Amantea are stunning for a road trip- amazingly authentic and fresh italian food in the restaurants

Doesn't matter cant block distances

I like just not having any plans. I have no other responsibilities outside my 9-5. So for me i weekly city break and at a minimum do a big one 3-5 times a year

Maidstone

Porto in Portugal is class.

Lovely architecture - great history - amazing restaurants (great value) - friendly locals.

We spent 5 days there in May and loved it.

Stayed in an AirBnB which was well located and very reasonable.

I've been to Lisbon which I would also recommend.

Glasgow

Wroclaw in Poland is a lovely city. Doable as an extreme day trip as well but apparently has a nice nightlife as well. Very pretty place
