Hi,

Good luck and welcome to the "club" when you pass. Paisley based biker here. Just been caught down the coast on my bike but got caught in sunshine, rain and hailstones on the way home. Welcome to Scottish biking - its brilliant fun.

I don't ride as much as I would but still it's great fun. Stay safe and good luck with it.

I am a newbie bike, only been riding since 1976 & my bum is bloody numb, but when riding bits you, that's it.

Was a biker until last April when an oncoming campervan pulled cut across in front of me out and stopped, with only a second to react. I hit him head-on and broke multiple bones (both legs, wrist and fingers and carpal bones).

Decided it's just too risky now, due to my personal circumstances to risk it again.

Please always ride like everything on the road is trying to kill you.

Good luck with the CBT, you will nail it. Everything in life comes with risk, do your best to minimise it every time you go out on the bike, enjoy the ride and stay safe OP.

Lost two friends to bike accidents .. be very careful on your corner speeds and reading the grip level. Other than users ..well what can you do ? .. Fully expect and anticipate people pulling out and always limit speed to being able to stop if something suddenly appears in front of you mid corner ..

But enjoy. It's a parallel life.

Biker girl here. Learning to ride a bike is one of the best things I have ever done. The feeling of having to balance fear with excitement and the rush of the wind is top tier. Good luck with your CBT I am sure you will be grand.

Learning to ride was one of the best things I ever did! Loved being pillion on my hubby's bike, but nothing beats being on my own! Good luck with the CBT ❤️

Mr, mrs or both doing CBT? If you have ever rode a motorbike or dirt bike in past you will absolutely fly by! You already got a bike for when pass? I also ride a 125cc and we are local to North Lanarkshire soif you ever wanna go out a ride just let me know! I’m an all weather rider anyways. Would have messaged directly but you don’t accept single male messages.

All the best with the CBT and welcome to the world of biking , one piece of advice I can give you going forward is make sure you have the best biking gear and helmet you can afford as you will never know when it will save your life . Passing the test is just the start as you will learn from other bikers as you start your biking journey 👍
