I’ve come across a few profiles now that say they won’t meet people if they vote certain political parties, support a certain football team or have a specific view on other countries politics.
I really don’t understand it. I know we can choose who we like but could someone explain to me why they wouldn’t meet people who have a differing opinion? Can you not find a common interest?

Some things are important to some and not important to others, it’s what can causes arguments, it’s way of the world I suppose.
Best not to ask, or say you vote for them and support the same football team 😂
Live and let live is my motto

Three things never to discuss especially in the Scottish Central Belt
FOOTBALL
RELIGION
POLITICS
OK that can be the one and the same conversation around here
I come me in here to talk and meet sexual people who wish to meet for a shag or talk about sexual hang ups and not the above
So why do people have to indulge in these preferences, can’t we all just hug and have cake and coffee

It’s crazy. I’m open minded and can converse with anyone and find things we have in common. I don’t even tell my friends who I vote for because it’s not going to make a difference to them |

I’m from near Aberdeen and tbf, religion isn’t a problem and we don’t have the tensions of football as in Glasgow.
Politics, whatever, know who I vote for not bothered who you vote for.
I generally find Glaswegians very friendly, open and direct people.

We usually friendly and open
The problem is when alcohol is added and conversation gets around to the big 3 topics then it’s time to leave the room
My politics etc are polar opposite to what team I support which used to cause problems growing up. It’s also the reason I gave up on a professional football career
The people who matter most to me know my preferences and respect them, unfortunately there are a few who I avoid on nights out or on a certain football weekend |

We’re lucky further north, politics, religion and football have no connection to each other.
I’ve always found it strange why they should.
Again this is not meant as a slant to the people of Glasgow, as mentioned I generally find them very friendly and direct. |

I will bring it up, only due to having a tattoo that may offend some folk when it comes to football/politics
Makes no odds to me about anyone having tattoos or football tops etc but not everyone thinks the same |

It comes down to morals and values.
I am looking for people to meet with semi regularly and be friends with rather than just to scratch an itch, so I need to be able to get on with those people and have a connection with them.
I cannot be friends with someone who doesn't think that everyone is equal and who doesn't believe in basic human rights. They are not for me. |

I have no common ground with people whose political views would see me and people I love eradicated, and no one should be expected to just be ok with huge potential differences like that; politics infiltrates everything, it's no small thing like disagreeing over the best cereal. The idea of being intimate with a right-wing tory or reform voter makes my skin crawl. Imho it's arrogant af to expect someone to just be chill about vast political differences just because they want to get laid. No sex is worth my integrity.
I also won't meet cheaters. Again, that's no small thing, and nobody should be expected to just get over things that bother them for the sake of a fuck.

I know nothing about you so I am curious as to What religions would tolerate you or the people you love? Most religions wouldn’t tolerate fab at all.
Why would someone meet you if they wanted to eradicate you? I don’t understand |

"Anyway it’s my birthday today
Anyone up for CAKE "
Happy birthday
Don’t mix politics and football. My political and religious views are also the opposite of the team I support. I don’t really think anyone treats me differently for it tbh because I don’t rub it in their faces and I look for things that unite us rather than divide us. |

i’m on another site where a lot of people have no Tories, Terfs or Zionists on their profile. I’m non of these things but it’s always a red flag to me.
Be open minded. just because you don’t agree with someone on one aspect there might be a lot you do agree with. |

A massive red flag to me is someone who thinks I'm simply not being open-minded when I don't want to engage with anyone whose beliefs infringe on the basic rights of others. 🤷🏻♂️ I don't care if a Tory likes the same music I do, I don't care if a TERF enjoys photography like I do, and I don't care if a zionist loves animals like I do; any similarities are meaningless to me when the differences are such hugely opposite morals.

I agree, if someone supports something that infringes on human rights doesn’t matter if they have a nice side.
I don’t like imperialism or the sycophancy that worships billionaires and oligarchy. We’re born with FA, will leave with FA a bit of kindness goes a long way. |
