Looking for ideas of what to get as a 1st tattoo. Nothing to big & outrageous, just nice & simple . For those with tattoos, what was your 1st & how sore is it!? I'm never good with pain lol x |

My first one was on my hand, just a pretty girly design. Not too painful, but all my tattoo's are hand pushed, not done with machines |

Miss N ask yourself these questions first.
Why do you want the tattoo?
Where do you want it?
What kind of tattoo do you want (one that symbolises something to you or just a pretty picture)?
Kink where do you go for your ink please? |

most padded areas aint a good idea its more to do with areas and amount of pain receptors in the area than whether areas got flesh or not one of the most painful areas is the tricep area which is padded across the shins is not painful at all |

I have five, good angel on.my right shoulder, nawty devil on my left ,a trailing butterfly between my shoulders,a heart and rose on my ankle and a missdynomite on at the bottom of my back .
Pick something you 100% sure of they do hurt but a bit like childbirth as soon as they stop so does the pain ....and yes the outline is the worst feels like someone dragging a razorblade through your skin so take some paracetomol just before you have it done it will dull the pain a bit xxx |

I have 12:
Shoot the moon on my foot
Real eyes realise real lie on my wrist
Freddie on my arm
Te amo nana on my arm
8 for my son:
Connor and his handprints on my wrist
Mummys little star dowm shoulder
His footprints on my collarbone
His funeral song inside my arm
His initial on my wedding finger
His time of birth inside one finger
Date of birth inside another
And a star on my shoulder with words for him
The ones inside my fingers wer by FAR the sorest felt like i was gettin my finger chopped off, but if i can stand the pain anyone can |

no need for paracetamol go to boots and ask for the cream that has the numbing agent in it ,, u will hardly feel a thing , dont listen to these people when they say it doesnt hurt, it does, goes numb after a bit, but for someone getting there first I would say be ready for that initial first buzzzz, u will get hooked, very addictive |

"Guys shouldn't have nipple piercings, it's not right. "
lol, there speaks the wisdom of truth.
I have never heard something so stupid.
If I was told that before I had mine done, I would have been worried that I would melt.
mine's is off now, overheats when the sun was out

"I only have 1 and im looking to have it covered up....which will mean a half sleeve....
Choose carefully "
Why not have it lasered?
We've both had that done very successfully and can put you in touch with someone who can do it.
OP, they all hurt. |

Got one across the base of my back a few years back.... Probably wouldn't be my first choice now to be fair.
Would / will have another one. Didn't really mind the pain at all. Just waiting for inspiration for my next one. Kinda like the idea of a sleeve / half sleeve but not really got the arms for it |

Numbing cream doesn't do anything, you'd be as well taking your money and chucking it in the bin.
The numbing cream only numbs the outer of the first layer of skin, tattooing goes through more than one layer of skin. |

"Forget any numbing creams they wear off pretty fast, let your bodies natural defences kick in to manage the pain.
Lol I'm no good with pain "
Im the worlds worst but have nearly my second sleeve completed, its a manageable pain and quickly subsides after it. There is no specific area thats sore it varies from person to person any area like a wrist, elbow, inner bicep the artist tends to go a bit gentler... |

All in the mind maybe, the cream lasts around 45 mins after which its the pain receptors that managing it. |

Let's consider how Emla works. The cream or patch is applied to the skin and you have to wait 30 minutes for it to take effect. Once it starts working, it only lasts for about 30 to 45 minutes . An average sized tattoo takes about two hours. This would mean that you would have to: (1)Apply the cream to 1/4 of the area to be tattooed. (2)Wait 30 minutes. (3)Begin tattooing, and stop after 30 minutes when it starts to wear off. (4)Apply the cream to another 1/4 of the area. (5)Wait 30 minutes. (6)Tattoo this section for half an hour. (7)Apply the cream to another 1/4 section of the area. (8)Wait 30 minutes. (9)Tattoo for another 30 minutes. (10)Apply the cream to the last quarter of the tattoo. (11)Wait 30 minutes. (12)Finally finish the tattoo.
You have just turned a 2-hour tattoo into a 4+ hour project.
