Hi folks this may sound silly but , when meeting and introducing ourselves to another couple , we tend to explain what were looking for etc etc . Is this off putting ? Were new to this and not sure if it comes across rude/desperate etc .

It's not rude at all, you're simply laying out your cards explaining what you're looking for. If people get offended (some do on this website *sigh*) then that's up to them to come to terms with.

Personally, no it's not rude or desperate. If I was in the same position I would explain what I'm looking for also.

I always ask what people are looking for. They may have listed their interests etc on their profile but it helps to discuss more in depth

I wouldn't want any1 to think we were just "in for the kill" so to speak . I am quite a nervous person anyway and find it a wee bit hard to approach and break the ice. I know I shouldn't be really . I end up gabbing away endlessly x

We're not interested in shag and go types, we like to have a good laugh with our playmates. So having a good chat beforehand really helps
