I'm a bit old school. A social meet I usually call a date (tho not always to the person I'm Suggesting meeting). Even if it ends up with nakedness I still call them dates.

To me a social is an organised group meet. I dint suppose it matters much so long as whoever is involved has the same expectations as you.
