This is the first year in 28 years I've not been working in catering industry, last Christmas Day off was around 6 years ago so totally buzzing for tomorrow. Your right though people in these industry's give up their time with loved ones and more often than not receive no thanks. K x |

""the holidays"? I thought this was the UK and we called it Christmas and New Year.
However, I agree 100% with the sentiments of your post."
You never shortened typing 'Christmas and New Year period' to just 'The holidays' before? |

"Remember the farmers also, they will be working over Christmas/New Year.Without them we would not be eating much.."
No prizes for guessing your job!?
However I totally agree. Brought up on a dairy farm and I remember well my dad was lucky to get about five to ten days off a year; total;; no weekends |

Merry Christmas to all those working on minimum wage today. Those who are in poverty with no 30k wage and a union. To those fighting to survive peacefully not bombing countries where the poor population have sharp fruit and live near oil.
May God/Buddha/allah/the force/nothing be with you. |

I would also say spare a thought for all the children that have to spent Christmas day in hospital no child should be spending their Christmas in Hospital.
This year we bought gifts to give to the childrens wards if it brightens a childs day to get a gift while they are in hospital it makes our day. |
